I promised I would review, so here it is! I thoroughly enjoy the food at Slurp. It is absolutely fantastic, and definitely hits the spot when I have a ramen craving. As such, I think it would be more accurate to say that my rating is 4.5/5. Let me start with the positives -- absolutely delicious flavors, and I've noticed over years that their menu has been getting larger. I visited the shop three days after they first opened, and had only 4 ramen options, along with some rice bowls. Nowadays, I notice they have seasonal specials, which is awesome. Staff is super friendly, and polite, and go out of their way to make you feel welcome. Now for the downsides, which often times I just overlook, because they're relatively minor in my opinion -- the space is rather limited within the restaurant, especially during rush hour. The only other downside for me personally is the portion size. It's a bit small for ramen, but I will wholly admit I've been spoiled, as I grew up in NYC, and got used to Flushing portions. Overall, though, I love this place, and will continue to return!

If you're from Japan or have been to Japan and you're missing the authentic Japanese ramen dining experience, this place might be for you. The service was very friendly and impressively fast, and there restaurant was packed with people. For me, it wasn't that much fun. There was no way to eat the food I ordered with the tools I was given. The noodles were way too long and the chicken pieces were way too big, and neither of them could be cut down to an edible size with the side of that spoon. Once I did manage to get something almost bite-sized into the spoon, it would fall out into the bowl, splashing all over my shirt and the table. In addition, I thought it was a little expensive, $14 for a bowl of soup and a cup of soda. I'm glad I tried this place, but now I know it's not for me. AMENDMENT: I have been back twice and loved it each time. I had a rice bowl that was very tasty and some dough buns (one pork, one chicken) that I loved.

I've been going here since it has opened and it's amazing. The food comes out quick and is always delicious. I love the rice bowls and different ramen broths; and they even have a secret menu item or two for us OG customers. One thing to think about is they have zero gluten free options. Wheather or not it's traditional to offer rice noodles, it would be a great addition to the menu for people who can't eat wheat; because of this, I have to put rice in the broth or just opt for the rice bowl all together when I am fasting from gluten based foods. The other thing are the prices. Now it's understandable given it's prime location in Port Jeff. I imagine the rent / taxes on the business being high but you get much more food at other ramen places for around the same price or less. Again, I love this place and it's literally a 4 minute walk from my house. I'll go here as long as they are there, and I hope they open up more locations!

OH MY GOD, IT'S LIKE I'M BACK IN JAPAN!

After living in Japan for 4 years, I ate ramen on a daily basis. After finding out that they were opening up a ramen place in Port Jefferson, I quickly rushed over there with my wife (who also lived in Japan, but for 2 years) and we ate to our hearts content. The flavors were super authentic to what we had experienced back in Japan, and luckily the portion is great too! I've met both the owners and they are lovely people, both having spent a long time in Japan as well ( the husband is Japanese, so if you're looking for authentic Japanese food made by a real Japanese ramen chef, you found him!)

What more can I say? The esthetic is nice "muji" style, which in Japanese means plain, but that's not what it really is. It's not all the flash of many Japanese restaurants, but instead portrays the authentic clean look that restaurants in Japan are known for.

I can only write here my love for my new go to ramen shop, but you HAVE to experience all the flavors yourself and maybe say hello to the owners, they're great people!

AND DID I MENTION! They don't just have the stereotypical broth of just salt or soy sauce, but a varied selection! (Just like Japan is known for!) and the noodles are just like how I remember them from Japan! So if you try a flavor you're not used to, trust me, there are PLENTY of other options --- just like there are multiple types of sandwiches, there are multiple types of ramen and broth! So try to your heart's content, because you won't find any place closer to...

I've been here on 4 separate occasions, each time 1-2 years apart. I can say this place has unfortunately fallen in food quality. The first time I went, back within the first 4 months of them opening, the food was excellent. The second time moving forward, the notes of the broth fell flat - very salty, one-note-savory, and simply not enough per bowl. It's a huge portion of noodles, which while they're great in terms of texture, just become salt bombs for the broth. Saltier than an instant ramen packet made as instructed.

Trip 3 and 4: Their karaage isn't very good karaage; it's big cubes of chicken breast that are deep fried with barely any breadding (and they're not bite sized, which makes it hard to eat/shred with your teeth). Mine were fully cooked, thankfully.

The pork buns and chashu-don pork are essentially the same thing: really greasy, slathered in sauce that only hits 1-3 favor notes: salty, greasy, and one-note. It kind of feels like they coated everything in a homemade bulldog sauce and said "yeah perfect!". To be fair, the pork it itself was cooked well and has the nice melty fat in it, no grizzle.

I left feeling greasy and not very satisfied.

You'd think a place like this would use washable chopsticks, but they don't - really flimsy plywood ones instead.

note: Staff is REALLY nice, well trained, and they do keep the...

I have been eating at Slurp for as long as I can remember. I have tried almost all of the ramen places in the North Shore Long Island area and I always find myself back at Slurp. My to go to order is the classic ramen. The milky broth is my favorite part, it has such delicious flavor and tastes like its been cooking for days. The pork is delicous and tender. I always order a side of karage chicken to dip into the broth it is soooo yummy. The chicken is seasoned perfectly, juciy and succulent inside with a delicious crunchy fry on the outside. The soft boiled egg is beautiful and perfectly boiled. I also love adding garlic chips for a crunch and added flavor. There are also other delicious items on the menu to order as a snack when waiting for ramen to come out, like the pork or karage buns.

The service is good I like the idea of ordering through a QR code at the table it is a lot easier (it used to not be like that and we had to wait on a long line to order) I haven’t been to Japan yet, but I feel like this is what a Japanese fast food cafe/ramen joint would be like. I personally enjoy the feeling and atmosphere I get when I dine here, but it is not for everyone (my mom prefers a server and restauraunt setting) but I think younger people enjoy this experience more. I overall love coming here and get so excited to eat it on...
