Planet Fitness — Attraction in Town of Clifton Park

I Love this gym.... I am a true runner and strive to be the best at every venture... I think the staff is amazing ..... I read the complaints and I simply do not understand!!! I am part of the( Breakfast Club ) lol.. W sit and chat and relish in the obscurities of the dichotomy of CLIFTON PARK NY... Anyway.... it is a well oiled machine and Dario is kind and wonderful and has a great staff!!! Tonya is top notch and Sue is great also.., I did complain about the age value of a trainer and I admit this yet she has ALOT of followers!! Joe and Denise are amazing and I love the weekend staff!!! Now. There is Santi.... (love this kid)... Just a breath of fresh air with the complete opulence of a comfortable place to be!!! Thank you Dario... Tonya.... Sue... Tammy .... Joe ...Denise... Santi....and Trevor....( I can not forget Trevor) Just a complete breath of fresh air !!! The gym is clean and they are ALWAYS on top of everything... A yay for Clifton Park!!!!

I feel I need to add to this post!!! I am very happy for Dario to be moving to a new location to open up a gym in Latham NY.... Yet... it is bittersweet!!!! His ability to run a great gym and to have treated each and every member with the utmost respect... It truly takes an individual as such to be able to compartmentalize each and every members needs!!! To run a gym efficiently yet to bend when needed!! There was a man( non member) who was in his 80’s that would come and just sit to be amongst people ... He was welcomed and never ever questioned for his presence.. ( he has since past away) .. I believe that an ability as such is a true asset to any business forum!!! Running ( even a corporate company) takes bending ...the greatest companies are run non astringently yet perfect at every angle!!! It is human condition that makes a happy well run environment!!! Rules are rules yet rules with the ability to bend and cater makes for an even better environment!!!! Good luck Dario!!!!! And.... thank you!!! You will be missed!!!! I’m sure that we will come visit you and Tonya from time to time!! The gym has become a place to gather amongst friends than work out!!! Judgement Free..... this was, and hopefully will be the motto carried forth!!! I love this gym and have for years !!! Through illness and many different scenarios it has always been the go to place every morning!! Kudos to Planet Fitness!!!!! Thank you Dan ( district mgr.) I am so sad with the Calvin ( movie Life) virus that’s has totally shifted our existences!!! I hope that the workers are taken care of!!! Running outside will have to become my daily routine as of late!!! I hope to see you all soon !! I’ve been spoiled with the convenience and not having to put on my running techware to run outside!!! Chris …… I do not understand why you are getting in a scuffle with a renowned gym person!! It’s a gym!!! Not a place to hog or define machines as yours!! Complaints are not warranted!! We go here to work out and see so many people pass away and it’s to maintain our dignity!! To live longer… I love PF and many aspects of the journey yet this boggles my mind… I’ve been a gym member since exit 8 and Troy.. well over 15 years .. relax and do not complain for in all honesty it’s a gym not a playground… We all go for a reason!! I really love this gym. The atmosphere is nice, every single employee is nice, the place is always super clean, there are mirrors everywhere, they have an app that tells you how busy the gym is currently, the people who go are friendly (people of all ages and strength), they have their own Wi-Fi, there’s a lot of equipment - both cardio and weight wise. I love the 8 cable machines. Other local gyms will have maybe 2, so if one person’s doing cable flys there, you’re SOL… There are also 4 smith machines (love these for hip thrusts, lunges, bench press etc…) these can be loaded up to 400lbs, they have dumbbells that go up to 75lbs, fixed barbells up to 60lb, also kettlebells/balls/monkey bars/ropes/bands etc…

As for cardio, they have stair steppers, ellipticals and treadmills, bikes, rowers…

Oh, and they really listen to people here! I asked If they had a cable kickback ankle strap - they ordered one immediately and I saw it the next week. I’ve also personally accidentally ripped a piece of equipment with my elbows (I’m sorry), and I saw it fixed the next week. They regularly change out their lightbulbs in their tanning beds and in the total body enhancement room (this TBE room is awesome, it helps my skin. There are peer reviewed studies that show red light therapy increases collagen production and helps in anti-aging. I swear it works. I read that that the bulbs are 650-850nm. And this is anecdotal… but my cystic acne went away when I started using this room regularly).

This place never processed my wife's cancellation or primary payment details correctly. The person who set up her account couldn't figure out which number on our check was the routing number and which was the account number and put them in backwards. This resulted in late fees being assessed even though they had a working credit card on file.

After cancellation they continued to charge our cards for months including late fees even though our card never declined a single charge. When speaking with numerous people there they couldn't even see the charges on their end. I was told by one person that I needed to call customer service at Planet Fitness corporate, however for their website it says very clearly that this needs to be addressed at the local club.

We stopped in and called a total of 5 times before finally getting a call back from Shane. While pointing out at least three different mistakes their computer system had made he refused to accept responsibility on their behalf for any of it while speaking in a condescending tone. He just kept spinning absurd excuses that made absolutely no sense. We received no refund and no apology.

I was able to dispute some of the charges with our credit card company but some were too old to dispute. I've never seen a gym so poorly managed. I will say that two of the people I spoke with on the phone while trying to get initial resolution were very pleasant and genuinely tried to help but the manager there (I believe Dario but I received multiple names) and Shane are...
