I’ve walked out of three restaurants in my life. Applebee’s and Friendly’s. This was the third. I can’t say the food was bad because I never got to try it. Walked in and was seated right away. It was crowded but there were open tables. We had 4 people and were given 3 waters. No one ever asked us what we wanted to drink. We placed our orders. The tables started to fill up, a huge party of 10 came in. From then on we were ignored. Others got their meals even though we were there longer. Someone walked up to us and finally asked us if we ordered. We replied yes and told them we ordered 30 minutes ago. 15 more minutes passed. The waitress finally came up to us to tell us the order was running behind and the kitchen was slow tonight. Another 10 minutes passed. We stood up, no one noticed or cared. We all walked out of there, they didn’t even try to stop us. I would have tried to tell them to cancel the order but no one was paying attention. Will never ever go back again. Wasted nearly an hour and didn’t even get enough water for the table or any food at all....
Read moreMy doctor recommended I start following a more "Mediterranean style" diet. So I agreed. A co worker introduced me to this place and I'm so glad she did. Priced well, the food is fresh, good, and there's plenty of options. If you're going to eat in, like anywhere you go these days, a reservation is encouraged but not necessary. The staff is pleasent, fun, and made great suggestions for my new diet. Excuse me, "lifestyle change."
I'm a bit confused by the atmosphere. I understand they had to adapt to the times and they found a way to balance. One side is dine in, the other side is take out, however the dine in side seems a bit cramped. That being said they had plenty of outdoor dining. I negated a star because the floor was sticky, there was no toilet paper in the bathroom and the garbage was over flowing.
The quality of the food and if their attention to their customers is excellent. I live a distance away, but find that this place will be worth suffering through the traffic on...
Read moreWow! What an amazing find, a little taste of Greece nestled in the heart of Bronxville. I have passed by this place many a time and always wanted to try it out, but circumstances precluded it. Things aligned themselves this past Sunday when I suggested to my wife that we try Opa Opa after Mass, and she acquiesed.
I am so glad she did! We had soups to start which were amazing (the lentil soup was especially good!) And we had one of their platters, my wife, the pork Souvlaki, and myself the combination platter.
I am not a Greek expert, but I know good food, and by far this was some of the freshed and best Greek food I have ever had! The portions were very generous, everything was beautiful seasoned, and the waitstaff was amazing! The decor was lively and clean with the blue and white of Greece represented in the different wall doodles of fish of different sizes. Everything about this place said Greek, and I can't wait to go back! ...
