Scumbags. This is the easiest and most unfortunate review I’ve ever given a business.

So what happened? My spouse intended to sell a gold bracelet she no longer wanted. Clearly, the gold itself was where the value resided. They offered her $1,075 for well over an ounce of gold. The following day (today) I brought the same piece to another jeweler because I’m apparently a bit better informed than my spouse was about the current price of gold. I was immediately offered well over 2x LaGravinese’s offer that she was offered less than 24 hours before.

Really? Is that actually how we succeed in business these days—by clearly trying to take advantage of people are unsuspecting and a little more trusting of their local, neighborhood jeweler? I now know better,...
