I shop at ShopRite. It's a really large supermarket with 2 separate sections of the store, one for produce, bakery, prepared food from steam tables, fish, deli and a seating area to eat something from these areas. The other is the meat, dairy, frozen and typical supermarket aisles. In my opinion, the best vanilla Greek yogurt in the world is made by Cabot. ShopRite is the only area supermarket I know of that carries it, in quarts only. I buy as many as 4 at a time because I eat it for breakfast every day with fresh berries. The deli Dept has a large selection, they are really nice and always give you the first slice of whatever you order to be sure the thickness is what you want. Their sales are good, I'm a circular shopper, buying as much as I can that's on special that week. I also look for the manager's specials in the meat Dept and often find a package or 2 of more expensive cuts that have a sell by date of the following day. I've gotten veal cutlets & chops, rib steaks, even a couple of small porterhouses once. The only thing that annoys me is when I forget something on the first side of the store after I've gone to the other side, especially if I'm at the other end. It's time consuming to go all the way back the other way. Other stores worth going to are: Denny's, with the best layette items and variety of children's clothing, as well as sleep away camp wardrobes and cute fifty things, especially for girls. Amazing Savings, with big bargains on all kinds of stuff, especially paper goods, wrapping paper and related items like gift bags, boxes, tissue paper. They also have a good selection of items for every major Jewish holiday, as well as Christmas, Easter, St. Patrick's Day, etc. But go early because they get things far in advance and they will sell out. Also a lot of children's items, goody bag stuff, tools, kitchen items and toys. The liquor store is no bargain. It's big but prices seem steep on most things. Tranquility Spa ( in the other part of the shopping center) is pretty good. Dress Barn might be the longest tenant there, other than Red Lobster and Pizza Hut( once having a stand alone location where the now closed Capital One Bank is, now the corner store on th strip). I bought work clothes for my first real job at that Dress Barn 30 years ago and the store wasn't...
Read moreThe Midway Shopping Center has a wonderful selection of stores as well as an enormous parking lot and a great security staff that is constantly patrolling the area. Just this morning, in route to work, I stopped at the ShopRite supermarket which opens at 6:30 in the morning which allowed me to buy a great salad and still get to work in New York City by 7:30! I used my mobile app to grab my almond latte at the Starbucks and considered going to CVS to buy sone cough drops! The Midway Shopping Center also has a Red Lobster Restaurant, a liquor store, and probably a dozen other stores selling everything from homemade ice cream to yarn...
