So today I went to this gym 24 hour fitness in valley stream and I have to say of all my gyms I've ever been to this has to have been the most dirtiest most disgusting gym I've ever been to filthy just filthy, so I went to the bathroom to wash my hands before I hit the floor and the sinks were clogged they were filled with standing water dirty standing water. Also before you make the right to go to the urinals it was urine all over the floor it was urine inside one of the stalls I didn't want to use the dryers so I went to get some toilet paper to dry my hands and the toilet was full with toilet paper stuffed with toilet paper and urine was all in the toilet and un flushed. urine all. over the floor so when you go to the floor the workout floor there's toilet paper all over the place because people wipe the stuff off and just leave the floors or the paper all over the floors.
The barbell are all over the place nothing was in order the 5 lb is with 100 lb goes in and vice versa whatever it was just a mess it's just a mess My buddy who went with tried to convince me that it's never usually like that and that's the only time that he saw it like that, it's horrible I complained to the girl at the desk though before I left when I left as I paid $25 for a day pass and they should they should have gave me my money back or compensated me some way for using this dirty bathroom like I literally bought a change of clothes to to use. I bought a change of clothes and I purposely didn't take my sneakers off that I used the bathroom with cuz I didn't want to put those urinated sneakers in my bag that would just it was urine everywhere it was horrible so unfortunately I didn't take any pictures but I'm sure if you go there you'll see how dirty this disgusting gym is I would say don't ever go to this one even the 24 hour fitness that that was on Jamaica avenue even though it was smaller it seemed cleaner than this gym this gym seemed like a Broadway junction public bathroom absolutely disgusting it's horrible horrific.
Whatever they are charging you need to lobby and tell them to give you your money back if their bathroom was dirty I imagine the pools are equally dirty , although I haven't gone in the pool I'm almost certain it rates 8/10 on the...
Read moreI am extremely disappointed with my experience at 24 Hour Fitness Valleystream. As a member for over six years, I have witnessed a steady decline in the quality of this gym. The equipment is constantly breaking down and instead of fixing or replacing it, the staff seems to turn a blind eye.
One of the most frustrating aspects is the lack of essential equipment. The gym used to have a sufficient number of assault bikes and rowers, but now they have none. It is incredibly inconvenient and disappointing to arrive at the gym only to find that the equipment I rely on for my workouts is no longer available.
Furthermore, the broken equipment is rarely fixed. I have reported numerous issues with machines, only to see them remain out of order for weeks or even months. This neglect shows a complete lack of concern for the members' experience and their commitment to maintaining a functional and safe environment.
The lack of proper upkeep extends beyond the equipment. Weights are never racked and are scattered all over the gym. Not only is this a safety hazard, but it also creates a chaotic and disorganized atmosphere. It is frustrating to spend a significant amount of time searching for the weights I need, especially when I am paying for a gym membership.
Additionally, the overall cleanliness of the facility is appalling. The gym is now dirty and unkempt, with trash left lying around and uncleaned areas. It is disheartening to witness such a decline in the cleanliness standards of a gym I once enjoyed visiting.
To add insult to injury, the annual maintenance fee that I am required to pay has become a complete waste. It is evident that the funds from this fee are not being utilized for the maintenance and improvement of the gym. Instead, it feels like an unnecessary expense that only serves to further frustrate members.
After enduring years of declining quality, I have made the difficult decision to leave as a customer. It is disheartening to see a gym I once enjoyed and relied on become a shadow of its former self. I can no longer justify paying for a membership that does not provide the equipment, cleanliness, and overall experience that I expect...
Read moreThey clearly did a lot of work upstairs—new everything, which is awesome! 👏🏽 Glad to see more machines like the leg press, hack squat, and glute drive. Have to get adjusted to the layout, but I think overall the space is better utilized. Lots more cardio machines, and it looks like most, if not all, of them are working! YAAAASS! Nice touch with the hanging TV monitors! Praying they have the maintenance crew to keep upstairs clean!
Would’ve been great if the machines were set up by body part— all of the leg machines in one area, abs, arms, etc. I also didn’t see stretch mats, but found a nice area behind the cardio area for that…guess I’ll bring my own mat.
I like that the sound system was pumping! I think this will deter individuals from bringing their own noisemaker and having a separate party. Anyone wanting to play different music needs to have that stuff in their ears. For the grand opening, though, I would’ve suggested having the 105.1 DJ music from downstairs play throughout the place, particularly upstairs.
What I don’t like is that there are still not enough of certain machines, i.e., leg extension (only one?). I also take issue with the fact that it’s still freaking dark up here!!! There are still lamps without working lightbulbs, and whatever bulbs they have are are too dim. Why did they fall so short with lighting? We need more light!
In addition, I really wish they had done something to the women’s locker room and bathroom . Hopefully, that’ll come soon, but in the meantime, maybe sandblasting the grout and tiles and a little paint might freshen it up a bit.
Not sure what the premium member space is about, but I suppose I’ll find out soon enough.
Overall, the changes are really good, but more needs to be done...
