I had a terrible/ embarrassing experience at this location with two employees. Carta who apparently loves karaoke and Jerry whose passion is baseball. Both of them should be ashamed of themselves for their behavior. Especially Jerry being that he’s management. I came to this store to look around. I happened to be in the green acres mall and haven’t ever stepped foot in a DICK’s Sporting Goods store and wanted to see what they had and if there were any sales going on. This store is huge and has two floors. As I made my way over to the second floor they had a section full of Stanley’s cups. I was looking around in that area because I have several Stanley’s cups and wanted to see if anything caught my attention to add to my mini collection. I had selected one that was baby blue and had it on my hand. Out of no where Carta comes over to me and asks me if I need help with anything. Mind you- it was weird because there wasn’t a single employee upstairs and there is a ton of other customers upstairs and I didn’t see him go up to any of them and ask them if they needed any help. He then stood in the corner just watching me like an absolute weirdo and made me feel very uncomfortable. I placed the Stanley’s cups down and made my way downstairs. As I’m about to exit the store Jerry approaches me and asks me if I’m going to walk to the register to pay for the blue Stanley’s that is inside my bag. In absolute shock and disbelief I told him I wasn’t sure what he was talking about because I left the Stanley’s cup upstairs and there was NO merchandise in my bag. I then asked him if he wanted to look inside my bag and then opened it for him. Out of no where here comes Carta running down the stairs co signing what Jerry was saying. Jerry did NOT want to look inside my bag however Carta did and what happened? There wasn’t NOTHING in my bag (besides my personal belongings) there was no apology, there was no “this is a misunderstanding” nothing from either one of them. It was absolutely embarrassing because the customers who are in the front of the store were all looking at me and what was going on. I didn’t care because I knew I did nothing wrong but to be outed and accused of shoplifting when I did nothing wrong is disrespectful and distasteful. This company needs to DO BETTER. This is literally a lawsuit waiting to happen. I’ve reached out to corporate to complain and nothing has been done. I am now looking into legal actions that can be taken against both of these employees and the company as a whole! Shame on you guys! Not every Latino is a thief and a criminal! He stated verbatim that “my dog doesn’t look like a service dog, I need to leave the store and provide proof of documentation” I stated that it does not matter what my service dog looks like to you he is a service dog. I am a veteran and have documentation but not required to show an establishment under the Americans Disability Act (ADA). Staff cannot ask for proof of training or certification for the animal, or inquire about the nature of your disability. They can only ask if the dog is a service animal required because of a disability and what work or task it is trained to perform. I showed this to them and totally disregarded me and continued to threaten to call the police. I said go ahead call the police let’s see how this plays out for you and your business for discriminating against a veteran with his service dog. I requested Dick Sporting Goods corporate phone number and filed a complaint. I am so disgusted with the poor customer service and communication this store is horrible ! Read moreWe bought a Horizon Threadmill T101 in Dick's sporting goods in Valley Stream, NY and was scheduled delivery on Jan. 6, 2025 between 3 to 6PM. I received a text that it will be delayed due to the lateness of the driver. I called Dick's twice and an associate told me that the package was still in their store and not yet picked up by AIT Logistics delivery. Called AIT and the associate can't even tell me and should speak to her coordinator. I called again Dick's asking what happened to the delivery and suddenly a manager told me that AIT Logistics as we speak are in the process of picking up the threadmill for delivery and that was 7:10 PM. It's so inconvenient that expecting a scheduled delivery was not accomplished in timely manner. Dick's should have called their shipper AIT Logistics that a package be delivered on time. Because of this, I will never ever buy again anything from Dick's Sporting Goods. To say the least, I observed that the employees in Dick's Valley Stream, NY aren't professional and seems not happy with their job.
