R&M Hair Beautique — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

I’m incredibly disappointed with how I was treated by this salon after being a loyal client who spent thousands over time and always tipped generously. I paid for hair that was not what I asked for, and when I tried to resolve the issue calmly and respectfully, I was met with avoidance, defensiveness, and a complete refusal to confirm whether I’d receive a refund. This salon does not specialize in hair extensions—I’ve had issues since day one, and it most likely comes from China. The extensions were only in my head for 1 week and I had to take them out because they were dead, the wrong color, and a completely different texture than my hair. They only handle problems in person, and every time it’s three people ganging up on me instead of a professional conversation.

To make things even worse, they canceled my hair and makeup appointment for my wedding day—and we are only a month away from it. That level of unprofessionalism and disregard is unacceptable, especially after how much I’ve invested here. This has caused me an enormous amount of stress.

I’ve been going to Marjela for years—since the salon first opened—and I can confidently say it’s always the best salon experience. The salon is beautifully run by Rudi (Marjela’s lovely mom) and Marjela herself, who is not only incredibly talented but also truly listens to what you want and consistently delivers results that exceed expectations.

Every time I leave, my hair feels fresh, healthy, and flawless—whether I’m going in for a subtle refresh or a full transformation. The attention to detail, the warmth, and the expertise from the whole team make every visit a joy.

Kristina, Marjela’s sister, is an amazing esthetician—my sister swears by her facials—and her makeup skills are top-tier. She is our go-to for any weddings or other formal events. It’s a full-service beauty experience with a family touch that’s rare to find. I truly can’t recommend this...

My hair has undergone so many amazing transformations at R&M. Even though I have moved further away from the area, I still travel to New Hyde Park to have Marjela perform her magic on my hair. I'm always so blown away at her balayage and hair cut. I LOVE LOVE LOVE her and her talents. Plus, I love that this is a family run business with Marjela's beautiful family.. mom and sister. Christina has done my makeup a few times and she makes me look and feel so pretty. The women at the salon are so nice and friendly. They keep their salon fun and clean. I look forward to my appointments. In addition, Marjela has helped me with hair advice on keeping my hair healthy and how to style it with various products. I'm always getting compliments on my hair.
