*Update- we moved my Mother to a new facility, and all issues below have been resolved. Do NOT go to Rockville!
Original post: BEWARE! If you come here for rehab (either for you or a family member) in any way, you will remember this review because you ignored it. I will try to be brief for I am making social media videos about this and I will be updating this review with the details. In the meantime, my Mother is there now, and they do not have the correct supplies, so her colostomy bag leaks at her skin. As a result she has feces all over her stomach that keeps coming out, and a nurse will come in, say I will be right back, and then takes THREE HOURS! So for THREE HOURS my Mother gets to stare at and smell her own feces that is one foot from her face on her stomach. The nurses are very confrontational when met with concerns (which the label as a complaint). Feces on a stomch for THREE hours is a major concern, not a complaint. Anyway, much more to come. In the meantime, please see some excerpts below from other reviewers of this dump, but I suggest reading the full reviews on your own. If you hate someone to the core, send them here.
Some excerpts: "My grandmother...was administered with milk of magnesia and then left to marinate in her own feces for hours multiple times"; "I wouldn't send my dog here. My dad was here for rehab. He was left in his feces all night until the next day."; " If your love one is there, GET OUT!"; "Disgusting attitudes from the Director of Nursing and a nursing supervisor. Not only are they not sympathetic to what the families are going through, but also are rude"; "The worse nursing center ever been too. Im here now as i write this review 3 days no hot water 5 days of cold food and counting."; "He was diagnosed malnutrition, dehydrated, and 6 other issues. I GIVE THIS REHAB NO STARS!! NONE ZERO! DONT GO HERE EVER!"; "This place is awful. No one wants to answer the phone.This place doesn't help patents at all."; "This place is a house of horrors.They could have killed my mom."; "Some would forget to give him his medication, properly clean him, and even deny to do something simple as open the window";
Mt. Sinai/South Nassau, you should remove this facility from your provider list, although I am sure the compensation you may receive for referrals would forbid that.
On a side note after a week here my mother had to go to the hospital for a bag issue. My mother vehemently refused to go back to Rockville Skilled Nursing. However they are the ones that begged her to come back and promised her it would be better. It hasn't been better, it actually has been worse and that validates what it comes down to-money. The administrative staff that say in their bio's they care about the patients should be embarrassed that they work at and represent such a horrible facility that does not in fact care about...
Read moreMy friend is recovering from brain cancer surgery and is currently 5 weeks (of 6) into his radiation and chemo treatment. We moved him to Rockville Rehab and Skilled Nursing Facility on January 30. We selected this location for a variety of reasons.
The staff were extremely accommodating and friendly. They listened to our concerns rooming, transportation to and from radiation and overall and being attentive to my friend's needs and worries. Nichole Mina, Admissions Director, was always available and was instrumental in facilitating and easy transfer from the other nursing home. The other staff were also attentive to our needs Wendy, The Social Worker and Shirley in Therapy, worked to make Ira's transition and development constructive and comprehensive. The facility is small enough (66 beds) so you never get lost in all the patient care needs. When my friend had a concern, pain, question, they responded quickly and in a way that he could understand. Rosey (Rose Thomas) is the 3rd floor nurse and looks after Ira. She's been awesome in making sure Ira receives his meds on time and chats with him frequently. She's also my go to person when I have questions about his treatment, RX administration, or whatever else I may need. She's a pleasure to work with. I visit the facility regularly and I watch how things operate and how they care for my friends and everyone else. I truly feel that the staff care about all the residents and do their best to make them feel comfortable and treat the with dignity. The facility is clean and convenient for us which is also a plus.
The only negative I have is that I wish they had a community lounge the residents could congregate. I think this would help with healing mind and body.
I'm not sure how much time we have left at Rockville, but transferring him to Rockville was the best decision we made. We're all...
Read moreI can't express enough how grateful we are for the outstanding care my aunt received during her recovery at Rockville Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following her hip fracture. From the moment she arrived, the entire team—nurses, therapists, and support staff—went beyond to ensure her comfort and quick recovery.
The nursing staff was incredibly attentive and compassionate, always taking the time to explain each step of her treatment and making sure she felt supported throughout her stay. Their kindness and professionalism truly stood out, and my aunt felt safe and always cared for.
The therapy team was exceptional as well. (Enrico, Pia, Serena, Claudia, Angela, Oby and Christina) They were not only skilled but also patient and motivating, pushing my aunt just enough to help her regain strength and mobility without ever making her feel overwhelmed. Thanks to their dedication, she made remarkable progress in a short amount of time.
I am so thankful for the personalized care and treatment she received at Rockville Center. The environment was warm, welcoming, and focused on her recovery, and we couldn’t be more pleased with the results. I highly recommend this facility to anyone in need of rehabilitation services—it’s clear that the staff genuinely cares about the well-being of...
