Father Bill never showed up for our meeting regarding our baby's baptism. We drove all the way from the NYC to see him for the scheduled meeting yet the secretary informed us that he has "errands" to do. Why schedule if you can't show up?? That was already strike one but we let it slide. Next incident, he called us and said he saw the forms we filled out with the secretary at the rectory for our baby's baptism. He said he saw that my husband isn't Catholic and we're married civil and not in church. He "advised" as to be blessed by him in church and he said that blessing can serve as our church wedding. We explained to him that we rather do the church rites in the presence of our family too. But he seemed to be pushy about doing the church rites. After that lengthy conversations, all he had to say was he's sorry, he won't baptize our baby because we as parents don't show importance to the sacrament of marriage. Like really? Since when did a Catholic church become a medium of this kind of negativity? The nerve of their staff to call me as well for "not showing up" on the supposed baptism day? How can we show up if we were told we can't have our baby be baptized in that church? Father Bill called me and asked about the incident and said they had people who are "volunteering" for summer. No Father. It's you whom we spoke to. Don't project it to someone else. We never experienced this kind of judgement and negativity when we had our first child baptized to a different Catholic church...
Read moreLove the Church even Married here. However we we asked for a signature to approve for my wife as she was born out of State for our precious child's Baptism and the lady at the desk was very rude to my Wife stating, "they couldn't help us because we are not in their data base for weekly donations" How Rude and this extortion if anything! Really so every week when we donate to the basket being passed down the aisles that doesn't count because our name isn't tied into the DOLLAR.Thank god I went to St Aidan's in Williston Park and they were extremely helpful and were not Bully's like this Church.
We don't need favors from the Church we work directly for GOD and GOD alone. No wonder less and less people are practicing as the years go by. They even closed down the Advent store on N. Village Ave because it was doing so poorly. Faith goes both ways not just to this...
Read moreMy daughter and her fiance just got married here. I requested the Cathedral choir (with a donation) and I hired 4 musicians (1 of them did it for free as a present to the couple). The coordinator of the liturgy was Mrs. Doreen Baldwin and she did a superb job. I'll let the videos speak of the experience. Brought us to solemn prayer amidst heavenly joy. I may be biased being the father of the bride but every single guest commented on how beautiful the liturgy was. The presider was Rev. Matthew Browne. Many thanks, Fr. Matt, Mrs. Baldwin, the St. Agnes Cathedral choir, the musicians and Janek Alcruz (altar server) for this unforgettable...
