Roosevelt Raceway Center — Attraction in Town of Hempstead

It's a good shopping center especially because of the Big Target store but I hope the closed down restaurants are reopened or replaced. Chili's is open and went there last night but the management doesn't seem to know how to run a restaurant. Where we sat I could see into the kitchen and it was a mess. Food all over the floor and people were running into eachother. Our food which we ordered before seeing the kitchen was 45 minutes late and our waitress was the only one working. When we walked in the hostess seemed angry and told my Wife this should be interesting experience and it was. Never had warm cheese cake and melted ice cream before lat night. I did tip the waitress 40% but the over all restaurant rating would be a 2. With everything in disarray the manager just hung around the bar like a deer in headlights or talking to the young waitresses which ours was married so she was on her own, this was clear. It use to be our go to really good restaurant but no more. A new manager would do wonders. PS with no other restaurant in the shopping center you'd think chili's would be packed but 1/3 of the tables were empty, another sign of it not running smoothly. One family which I saw walking in as we pulled up left as we got to the door and they were not happy. Avoid if you can or maybe go early when it's close to empty...

I had a bad experience here, their was this guy working at target, the pizza area, I waited on line before this woman and I add soon came next. This guy just walked a couple steps away from the counter and then stared at me. I was a bit confused so I thought I'll just state my order but as I was speaking he interrupted and said YOU HAVE TO WAIT 10 MIN rudely. I stood silent and embarrassed cause I didn't really understand the situation. Why didn't he tell me that before he walked a few steps away from the counter and stood there glaring at me. With anxiety, I felt scared. He left, and I stood frozen. I didn't want to be there a more and after saying I would have to wait 10min he probably thought i would leave because of the wait because 2 minutes later he comes out of the back and takes the person's order behind me while I was just their. Still waiting, but i left cause I didn't want to spend my money to a rude person who doesn't acknowlhhedge...

I go here for the Target. Convenient location to major roads and parkway and very well maintained parking lot. What annoys me is I don't understand how people just dump their carts anywhere and don't return them back to the cart stations. These obese LI'ers driving their gas-guzzling SUVs are too lazy to walk a few extra steps to do the right thing. Anyway, the cart maintenance guy does a good job getting these carts under control. Just looking at how sad human nature is, just by observing what happens to shopping carts in a parking lot, tells you a lot about the state of affairs of the planet. Folks, we...
