Macy's has a huge selection of casual, sporty, and evening clothes for men and women, and a decent section for babies, but there is very little if any for ages 2 through 18. They carry a large selection of housewares (kitchen, bedroom, bath), make-up, handbags, woman's shoes, perfumes/colognes, and lingerie. You can even buy a mattress although the selection is not that large.
Most of the store is fairly organized, but there are areas (mostly sale and markdowns) that are in complete disarray--just a bunch of clothes shoved together on racks.
I advise scanning price tags at one of the self-scanners to confirm the marked price, although to be honest when the price is wrong, I've found that in most cases the actual price is lower. Sales seem to be the norm, and at the end of each season prices are at an all-time low.
Dressing rooms frequently look like they've been hit by a tornado, although I would blame customers for that more than the employees who struggle to keep up with shoppers who don't care how they leave things.
Except for a few, the majority of the employees are very pleasant and will go the extra mile to help you, even so far as to find an unused coupon for you if you don't have one yourself.
Macy's return policy is great. As long as: 1. the tag is still on the unworn item along with the item's "return" sticker, and 2. you still have the receipt (or used a Macy's charge card) for the purchase, it seems that you can return just about anything at any time. My only dislike is having to go to a cashier that is on the floor/near the area of the item being returned. A pain if you are returning several items from 3 different floors.
Recommendation: If you wear adult size clothes, have time, and don't mind looking through a possible mess to find nice clothes at great prices, this...
Read moreRecently visited this store (4/23/22) in search of new shoes during the Friends and Family promotion. I’ve been an avid Macy’s shopper at this exact location for nearly 15 years. But this visit I was disgusted by the appearance of the shoe department, as nothing had been tidied, boxes were left strewn about, tissue paper and the likes were littered everywhere. As I was browsing, not a single employee approached to ask if I needed assistance. When I finally selected 2-3 pairs of shoes to try on it was impossible to find an associate, and when I did they would make eye contact and turn the other way. I walked over to the register to ask for assistance and was dismissed. I finally got someone to help, to which he went to the back and spent over 15 minutes “looking”. When he returned he said he didn’t have any size 9 but had one pair in a 7.5, which helped nothing. I left with nothing but frustration. Had I been approached, assisted, or simply treated like a shopper the experience wouldn’t have left such a sour taste in my mouth. The convenience of a brick and mortar store was overshadowed by the negative attitude of employees, lack of stock, and...
Read moreI had the pleasure of talking with Desiree on the second floor in ladies clothing. I was looking for a pair of beige pants that I seen and almost bought previously but did not due to a missing button and a stain on the backside (which she seen) . I went back two days later to retrieve them and, as luck would have it, Desiree was on duty. Not only did she remember me but she remembered the pants and she said that they had been marked out. She said that if she could find them she would talk with the manager and see if I can purchase them. She searched high and low for these pants. She asked other girls on the floor if they knew what happened to them, she got keys to rooms they would possibly be in. When she came back she told me they were no longer there. She was so apologetic for not being able to produce the pants and it was real and sincere. She was such a sweetheart and such a nice lady that I wanted to hug her. I was so impressed with how far she went to help me with my quest that I had to do this review. Macy’s at Walt Whitman Mall in Huntington Station, NY is extremely lucky having Desiree on their team!! 🙏 👌
