I live out of town in Virginia but my parents live in Huntington, I continuously order to go and freeeze these bagels for when I am back in VA because they are simply the best . The staff here are always friendly and welcoming, making the experience even better.

Currently my pregnant wife lives of the bagels for breakfast, Paula specifically helped me out multiple times with large orders by individually wrapping each bagel so they would not only travel easier but so I can freeze them and I know both my wife and I and future baby appreciates this. I am only writing this in hopes of helping someone else avoid an awful experience. I work in the area and had been to Brendel's many times before. I had noticed a general decline in the service but had avoided any real issues until this recent time. I walked in and although the place was not busy I received no service or even a hello for a few minutes. The 2 guys working behind the counter appeared dirty and in no rush! Once I finally ordered the simple, 2 sandwich order, I was already concerned because I could tell the guy wasn't listening well. Sure enough, once I had driven back to the office, one of the sandwiches was wrong. After driving back for the second time, the same guy took the order without writing it again. After I told him to write it, he went to fix it. This took a very long time and he only made one of the sandwiches fresh. By the time, I got back for the second time, the food was cold. Basically I will never return here and do everything I can to get the Bad word out. Too many places have crap service and don't care. ENOUGH! If you can't make my food the way it should be and provide good service while doing it, you should be called out! I hope they try harder but if they don't I'm sure they will be fine. Overall horrible experience. We catered a big party with them had them bring everything and ordered food over months in advance. A week before the party we called to confirm everything just make sure we were on the same page and the lady rushed us off the phone didn’t wanna stay on phone to make sure everything was going to run smoothly for the party . We asked for food to come at 11:30 , when we were serving , the food showed up 9:00 , completely wrong time we had no room in any fridge to put tons of food , snd half of the food was wrong . They forgot 30 bagels, butter, cream cheese, brought wrong foods, and didn’t even give us not enough food to feed everyone when we had no budget. Truly a horrible place to order or cater from and the food was not even good. Guest did not like the salads the bagels etc .
