Stop & Shop — Attraction in Town of Huntington

Went in today to get groceries, masks, gloves and all in the pouring rain. Still disinfecting the groceries. Got charged twice for a large pack of paper towels (that there is a limit of 1 on them anyway, it shouldn't be allowed to scan twice). We realized when we came home, and wanted to see if we can get money refunded over the phone, since they have the receipt and card number anyway. They said we have to come in TODAY and drive 8 miles again, risking our health for a second time for SOMEONE ELSE'S mistake. We've been on the phone with managers for 15 minutes seeing what other alternatives there are and nothing. Not even a gift card put on reserve for the items we were charged. Seriously disappointed in customer care of this stop & shop, every employee is on their phone or looks aggravated to be there. It's hard to even talk to the workers because they are so distracted, people who are stocking shelves are on the phone via apple airpods or listening to music. I paid for my things and the lady who rang me up didn't even look at me, as soon as all of the things were scanned she immediately took out her phone and it was game over. I probably could have gotten away without even paying. I bagged my groceries up myself, missing items that she didn't pass down the conveyer belt to leave. I get that it's not the most fulfilling job in the world but if you can just make the process of getting groceries a little easier, I am sure you'd get many more loyal customers. Edit 12/23/2020: 11 month later and I just bought 2 packs of ground turkey that smelled so bad I had to throw them both out immediately. Unacceptable.

Great location and large parking lot but that's about all the good things the store offers. For a long time the meat that I bought from the store didn't smell very good when I brought it home. That issue seems to resolved now, but I don't take a chance anymore after that. My other main issue is that the "fresh" muffins are always rock hard no matter what time of day I go. The store also doesn't have certain items I always find in other stop and shop store which I find very weird. I'll go for certain items like water or juice, but if I need a lot of items I'll just take the time to go to another stop and shop. They usually havd good sales. This store could be...
