The swanky new restaurant takes over the corner of wall street and central street just south of the AMC movie theater in Huntington village. The restaurant hits a pulse with modern times by greeting you with a garden vestibule and neon light script text ideal for photo taking. The inspiration could be from the famous “Ended up of 1 Oak” neon light catchphrase however, the “Meet me at the Ivy” has already gained a following with tagged Instagram posts.
As you enter, the room is split between the main dining space and a large wrap-around stone bar with flat-panel televisions. The dining area also accommodates an additional private space designated for private events. Wall panels are backlit with LED lights along with ivy vines draped throughout the entire dining space ceiling. Providing an optimal ambiance holding to its signature name.
Normally, a new restaurant need some time to get their bearings in order. Sometimes there will be miscommunication between the patrons and waitstaff, or between the staff memebers themselves, or the food will be underwhelming, unprepared, and unbalanced. However, this cannot hold true about the staff and food at Ivy Kitchen and Bar as they did not miss a beat. The food and service exceeded expectations.
The cocktails were large and generous with their alcohol content as well the food portion size. We ordered a round of drinks, baked clams, and a Caesar salad to start. The dressing wasn’t too much or little, a good amount to taste the salad. For our mains, we had the short rib risotto, the cheeseburger with string french fries cooked just right, chicken parmesan, and their signature Barotta Rigattoni, names after the owners. For dessert, Carrot Cake was provided by the next-door bakery Fiorella Dolce.
In conclusion, I would most certainly visit The Ivy Kitchen and Bar again in the future. Although, one might argue why should there be another restaurant in Huntington Village? My answer to them is to visit them and see why for yourself. Its off to a great start and I look forward to seeing the ivy vine grow in this town.
Thank you for your hospitality!

Read moreWent with a group of friends and had a disappointing time. There wasn’t enough parking for the complimentary valet parking, and while the attendant was super nice, he directed us to self park at the Stop & Shop across the street and walk back over (on a cold January night). Our reservations were for 8:30pm but the table wasn’t ready when we arrived on time. We asked a few times when it would be ready and at 8:52pm, we were told “2 minutes”. When we asked again about our table after 9pm because the hostess hadn’t gotten us at the bar (where she saw us at 8:52pm), she told us “we’re waiting on you”! Um…?
We were finally seated at 9:05pm right in front of the door with the cold January night breeze every time the door opened. We asked to be switched to a different table and at least they accommodated us quickly. We ordered dinner and were served at 9:50pm. The short rib mac and cheese dinner was “weird” at best. For a $32 meal, the short rib meat was almost non existent, was cut before it was cooked into small Chicklet (like the gum) size pieces and mixed it into the mac and cheese so there was really no taste of short ribs. The cheese tasted weird (like velveeta but worse) and it was just all wrong. One of the other meals (chicken parm) was cold, and a couple other meals were mediocre at best.
The vibe of the place was very Gen Z Instagram/TikTok look-at-me-look-at-me. I agree with another reviewer who said if you’re over 25, you won’t like it (and we ARE over 25, so you see where this is going). Most of the people we saw there were in their mid 20’s plus a few much older people dressed like they thought they were in their 20’s (but definitely weren’t). The music was LOUD so our group could barely hear our server (who was fantastic), and we definitely couldn’t talk to each other or have a normal conversation. In the end, we felt like we had an expensive dinner in a night club which ISN’T our vibe, so we won’t be going...
