I paid $210 for baby items who's material value could not possibly exceed $10, therefore I would like to think that the remainder of that payment was for the pure entertainment value of being gaslight by the erratic and vaguely menacing owner...
Quite apart from screaming at innocent bystanders on the street for 'disrupting her enterprise' the owner interrogated me with invasive questions designed to judge my socio-economic status, made zero effort to understand what I was looking for and regaled me with unsolicited facts about herself and her career.
All of this can be forgiven as eccentric; however like many other people I do not appreciate blatantly being lied to. When I finally found a pair of baby slippers that I liked, the owner proceeded to bombard me with again unsolicited information about their production and provenance. She claimed both the leather and the production were Italian. She asked if I wanted them to be customised; which of course I did, not thinking to confirm the price because one does not expect baby clothing of no brand-name to be sold at a particularly punishing price-point.
When I got to the register I was told the total would be $210 and though taken aback moved to pay with my card. The owner refused saying that she only accepts Cash or Venmo (I find this to be strange for an established business), but out of decency, seeing as the product had been crudely customised with glitter glue that was smudged when she gave it to me I paid in cash and was grateful to leave. I was so relieved in fact that it did not occur to me to check that the receipt of sale had been provided. I also checked the slippers and the production tag inside them states that the slippers are neither Italian nor leather but in fact were produced by a wholesale collaborator of Macy's with the finest polyurethane available in China.
I returned to the boutique to ask for a receipt, which was produced only after much protest (and when I say produced I mean literally as she had not drawn up a receipt at all at the time of my purchase). The owner demanded my home address, name and telephone number but backed off when I asked for her company's name on the receipt of sale (literally a pink sheet of paper). I also confronted her about the fact that the slippers were not in fact Italian or leather, and the owner attempted first to deny this and then when she could not she attempted to gaslight her way out of the situation saying that all brands produce in China anyway. She also followed me to my car which was very uncomfortable frankly.
Personally I will never patronise this store again nor can I in good conscious recommend it to anyone looking for a baby gift. The misrepresentation of the product is either unethical...
Read moreI had an appointment today which was discussed yesterday. My mother found this boutique and I called and schedule an appointment last night for today. I arrived and phoned the owner, stated my name and the time of my appointment. She was so rude, my mother in law even agreed as she was listening to our conversation over the phone. She acted like she never spoke to me, stated that she was still home, she thought our appointment was for 15 minutes later than the time that I arrived. She was rude and I knew something was off yesterday when she kept me on the phone stating that “she owns a very successful financial company” so that’s why she only runs the boutique by appointment only and that she needed to head to the Hamptons by 2pm. So that is why I showed up at my 12:45pm appointment on time to not inconvenience her. I cancelled my appointment after feeling uncomfortable with our interaction, I then received 8 text messages, and 2 phone calls asking me to come back. At this point I had to tell her to stop harassing me or I would call the police, I had my 8 month old son in the car and I was very freaked out about this woman. Avoid at all costs, I will not do business with a psycho woman. Also, she told my mom she was a makeup artist for famous people, and as I read comments below she told someone she works for the CIA? This woman displays behaviors someone with a mental disorder, I hope she seeks therapy or counseling....
Read moreI’ve known Terry from about 30 yrs ago or more from her days when she had a booth at the Busy Bee In Massapequa and I have followed her to her beautiful boutique where she is now in Huntington village..I have bought many baby outfits over the years as gifts for baby showers, etc and the people I’ve given the gift to for their baby loved it and I was proud to give it as my present..everything is so dainty with pretty pink hearts painted on by Terry with satin ribbons and touches of iridescent sparkle and Swarovski crystals..she has even thrown in little lace matching socks to be nice, as well as offering to meet me at a location halfway between us so I didn’t have to drive so far..I also have friends that said they saved the outfit because it was way too pretty n special to throw out. Terry even decorates the gift box or bag with baby’s name and the same embellishments as the outfit had on it. Her store is beautiful & clean and I wish I could buy everything in it.. I’ve read the comments above n I’m shocked because I’ve never had a problem with her she’s always been kind and...
