I visited Harbor Park Beach in Mamaroneck and paid a $13 entrance fee, expecting a peaceful and relaxing day by the water. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing on multiple levels. Despite the posted rules, there were two separate groups blasting music from speakers, disrupting the environment for everyone — even with children present at a nearby camp, whose noise echoed through the afternoon. Just as we hoped for a quieter moment, concert setup began, adding to the noise and making it impossible to enjoy the natural sound of the waves or find any sense of calm. We came a long way hoping to unwind in nature, but were instead surrounded by constant disturbances. To make matters worse, there are no water fountains available. So once your water bottle is empty, you're out of luck — especially since the only water on-site is from the bathroom sinks, which purposely run hot, making it undrinkable. That’s a serious concern on a hot day. Most upstate beaches provide basic amenities like drinking water and decent restrooms — this one does not. Also, by 5 pm, we started to constantly smell sewage at our spot of the beach. I couldn't think that was actually possible in such a nice county as Mamaroneck. If you're looking for a quiet, restorative beach experience, I would not recommend Harbor Park Beach. It simply doesn't deliver the calm or comfort you'd expect for the price.
