First let me say that if you ever went to the original My Fathers Place, this place is nothing like it.
We got here early to get seating. It's a nice venue for music. Not to big and comfortable seating.
Service was ok. Pleasant but he could have stopped by to check on us a little more.
Drinks were good but priced a bit higher than other places I go to, $10 draft beers, $10 - $14 glasses of wine, $14 Glenfidich 12, which I thought was a pretty good price. But the $10 rose spritzer was bad.
Now for the food. We came early so we were all hungry. If I ever go back to MFP, I will never order food again. Everything we ordered was below average, except for the prices. I wasn't surprised that everything was expensive but the food was average to below average.
My $22 cheese burger was hard and dry. It tasted like it was precooked and reheated. The roll was dry and the fries were like cardboard. It was just awful.
My friends $38 skirt steak? Three small pieces of steak and some fancy lettuce, and nothing else, no tomato or anything. It was a pathetic excuse for an entree. No potato or fries. Half the rectangular plate had nothing on it.
The $11 cheese platter had a few slices of cheese and 2 pieces of dry Italian bread. It was sent back.
The $26 chicken milanese was a very generous portion of two large breaded cutlets that were moist but somewhat unflavorful, and covered with salad of some kind. My wife gave me and our friend some chicken to make up for what we didn't have or could not eat.
So, with the cost of admission, it was a $232 night for my wife and I. Brian Taz Niederauer was absolutely fantastic. The opening act was pretty bad. So to meet the $25 per person minimum, without food, I'd have to have 3 beers or two more expensive cocktails. What does my wife, who rarely drinks, do? I guess we only go back if there is someone we really want to see. MFP is not a place you go to see a potential new artist, unless you don't care...

It was our first time at MFP, and we had a really great time! I really want to highlight our experience with Jared, who I believe is the manager for the venue? He went above and beyond in his customer service. We had an excellent evening and that in large part is due to Jared. THANK YOU JARED!!
We ordered a couple of apps between us to share and they were all tasty. To me, the quality was better than at most music venues. The stand out for me was the lobster bisque. The seating arrangement is such that members get the comfy bigger seats/tables up front and non-members get the smaller tables in back. It was fine for this show, but we are definitely members now. It's a small-ish space, very intimate and it sounded great!
My only complaint is that we ordered mixed drinks in the bar before the gig and they were basically juice. VERY light pour for very expensive drinks. We switched to wine at dinner and it was fine.
We had such a great time that we had bought tickets to the Jack Tempchin show scheduled for a couple weeks later. It ended up getting cancelled, but we will definitely be back and hopefully for...
Read moreCabaret-style performance venue in a hotel ballroom with all seats facing the stage! Saw Long Island’s own veteran pop rockers, Barnaby Bye, in this setting with comfy chairs and real table cloths. Sound mix and room balance was reasonably good, even with a full house and wait staff serving food and drinks. The $25 minimum doesn’t get you too far, but our party enjoyed the entrees of fish, burger, braised short ribs, plus tasty salads - Greek and chicken Caesar. Draft beer and ale selection changes, and you can request a sample first. Summary Comments: Sight-lines are slightly reduced by a low stage and the seating all on one level. Service is good and the food rates 3 to 4 stars. Efficient valet parking, and a very pleasant setting for a rock show in...
