Pure Hockey — Local services in Town of Smithtown

I am no longer an active hockey player, either roller or ice. I’m at the phase in my life where I am a dad who needed both new ice skates and new rollerblades to teach my children the sport. Both times I have visited I have had phenomenal experiences. When I bought my ice skates, the staff took their time to help me find a skate that was both affordable and comfortable. After one session of pond hockey, my skate had a cracked blade. A year later I finally went in to get my skate fixed and the staff bent over backwards to search their used parts and find me replacement blades for virtually nothing. My most recent trip was to purchase rollerblades, and Melissa was fantastic. She listen to my concerns and paid attention when I pointed out where I was feeling discomfort. And together we locked in a new pair of rollerblades but I’m thrilled to use. She even she suggested some special inserts to help a 40 year old man and his knees and...

My son started playing last year. We bought a lot of his equipment at another store (I will not name them because of poor experience with owner). I went back to them because I had a credit and they said they no longer are in hockey business because Pure Hockey tookaway their customers. When my son needed new skates and stick I went in. Great service. They spent a ton of time with me. My son tried on probably 5 different skates before settling on pair. They then baked the skates which no other store I have been in offered. Helped pick good stick but not overly priced and when I questioned shin guards they didn't sell me new pair. They told me ways to get current ones to fit better. ...

I love this store and always have the best experience here. The staff is always very friendly and informative. They are great with their suggestions. Melissa is our favorite - my son, wife and I always have great experiences with her and try to go into the store when we know she is working. I don't think we've ever asked her a question pertaining to equipment that she didn't have the answer to. She is extremely knowledgable and always points us in the right direction.
