Out of all the whaling museums I’ve visited across the country, this was by far the worst front desk experience. The staff member greeting patrons was cold, unwelcoming, and unprofessional — a terrible first impression for any institution, let alone a museum. She was slouched over the counter, practically leaning her head forward, which came across as disinterested and disengaged. She presented poorly both in demeanor and appearance, and seemed completely unfit for a front-facing role. Read moreI really love everything about this museum especially their current show where they showcased student artwork from South Africa! Additionally I really enjoyed exploring all of the amazingly preserved relics that speak volumes of the history of Sag Harbor. The staff were also extremely welcoming, especially Jen’s knowledge of the different relics and town’s diverse history! I will definitely venture here again when I visit Long Island and highly recommend you explore everything this museum...
