I can honestly say without a shadow of a doubt I have been to every nail salon in the Hamptons and a few in the North Fork too. From Westhampton to Montauk, plus the city I’ve graced them all. Never looking for anything too fancy, I don’t do gel or the like just clean, simple, “old-school” manicure/pedicure. Not one has ever really been great and inevitably my fingers tend to chip within days to my utter annoyance. But recently at the behest of my good friend and dermatologist, Christina, she told me I simply had to try Scarlett Rose Beauty. They have locations in both Sag Harbor and Greenport and a newly launched “nails only” in Sag. I will say I was apprehensive at first. The price point seemed higher than what I normally pay and couldn’t quite believe her when she promised me they lasted and didn’t chip like other places. Normally I would have brushed this aside but when a friend and someone who works in the beauty industry gives you an insider’s tip you listen. And holy sweet Opi nail ad heavens am I ever glad I did! My Mom and I went together in the original Sag Harbor location where they do all manner of services from hair to facials etc. We had two lovely women pamper us in the nail area for a record-breaking hour and a half. We left feeling relaxed, tidier and with what looked like the perfect manicure. Yet, still the burning question remained, would it last? Well, I am here to tell you lovely souls that somehow by some beauty miracle I do not understand it is now a week later and nary a chip in sight! I cannot comprehend this because it’s the same traditional nail polish we all know and use, same pathetic fingers of mine which are usually short, cracked and flanked with red hangnails that would make most women of the Hamptons and NY recoil in beauty horror. But, still over a week later and I currently gaze down at my perfectly oval wine-colored nails in a true state of shock! The bottoms of my feet still smoother, toes in perfect holiday-ready condition and is seriously nothing short of a marvel/miracle. It may be a little more than what you are used to paying but it more than makes up for it with their kindness, cleanliness and lasting nails that you can peer at and feel a little bit better about yourself. 1st time I went there I was 10 min earlier than my appointment but I was made to wait because the owner was busy finishing someone else. 30 minutes after my appointment was supposed to start the owner apologized and starts working on my hair. If they would have called me to let me know they run behind the schedule I would have come in later. As an employee I’m paid hourly so I missed 1h of work just waiting. When the time comes for me to pay I end up paying for more than I expected and much more than someone else on which the owner was working on and I had to wait for over 40 minutes. The other lady had very long hair, got highlights and other stuff meanwhile my bill was $150 more for shorter hair and just a couple of highlights and color.

I don’t like to leave reviews but when this happened a 2nd time when Im made to wait 20 min for the owner to finish someone else and I still pay full price without a discount for waiting without complaining then I’ll take my business somewhere else where they do appreciate a good & returning...

The absolute worst place ever. I gave them two shots and now I will never go back there. First time was my daughters communion. All they did was blow her hair out and she was the communion girl they charged $500 for nothing !!!! It was a special day and the girl Bianca thought she did a good job when we could have done what she did at home for no charge. Then my mom goes back after i told her don’t go there. They microblade her eyebrows for $650 and they tell her they ran out of the two dollar eye cream to give her. The place is a joke the owner Anne has 0 respect for her clients. The desk girl Shannon has no clue about time. She says they will call her back and they never call back. The worst client service ever !!!!
