Widows Hole Oyster Co — Attraction in Town of Southold

What a wonderful thing is to witness passionate individuals working in nature and delivering a fantastic product to society. Not only Widows Hole has great environmental ethics ( how couldn't you when dealing with oysters ) but manages to produce some really nice mollusks. We had the pleasure to visit the farm in May and see how it's properly done. We were thankful to be able to taste some 3 years and older oysters, the size of a fist with and incredible freshness and crispness you would have expected only from smaller ones. What a cool place! Mike and Isabel were incredibly kind and welcoming during our visit to their home and oyster farm. Mike gave a fantastic tour that exceeded all our expectations, sharing the rich history of oyster farming in New York and the best methods for cultivating oysters.
