If you like waiting over an hour for your order…then sure come here. Margarita isn’t special and definitely NOT fresh fruit, taste like premix drinks from deli added ice and a slice of lime plus quarter slice of orange. Mexican corn salsa is NOT fresh corn, it’s can corn. Aside from that I can’t talk about the tacos because it’s still not here. Let’s see how much longer the wait will be.
Tacos are here, if you want flour soft tortilla thick like the ones for quesadillas/burrito. Then this is probably the place for you. But definitely a hard pass, even if it’s a free meal. I guess that’s what you get with chain restaurants even if it’s family owned.
Also idk how to reply the owner via this. But yes my group and I were tired and we had already waited close to 40minutes for seats since we did not have a reservation, and was not expecting to wait another hour after we order a few tacos and chips. The restaurant was 50-60% packed at this time. We were indeed hangry then ended up not hungry from the wait and decided to cancel our dessert since we did not want to wait another 30minutes for them. Even for chips and dips I did not see why it would take over 30minutes to make unless you’re frying your chips and actually make the salsa fresh at the moment. Your waiter/waitress just chatted all night did not even realize our drinks were not “ordered”, when she came by two of us asked for water because wasn’t that the expectation since it’s MDW, then was told “omg you should’ve yelled at me”, then hurried to the computer to place the orders. The drinks then came at a fair time and she was apologetic. 30 minutes after the drinks were told your tacos are coming right up. We were there close to closing time and not at the peak of dinner when it was...
Read moreCame to Lucharito’s for some Mexican food because of a recommendation.
The place is so vibe. Ifs vibrant and great music was playing. It must be popular because we had to wait about 20 minutes to get a table. We just walked to the dock in the meantime.
We order margaritas which were delicious. The right amount of sweet but tartness. I also appreciated them asking what kind of rim we wanted as I think salt rims should be discontinued. We then ordered the elote corn. If elote is on the menu, I’m getting it. This one was AMAZING. Probably the best I’ve ever had. Instead of regular mayo, the used chipotle menu which gave it a flavor profile that I will crave from now on. The chips were subpar. They didn’t seem fresh and weren’t salted to my liking. For my main meal I order 3 tacos: 2 Baja chicken and a traditional carnitas. You are probably wondering what is Baja chicken well instead of the fish on the Baja fish taco I substituted chicken and my GOSH. Give me 14 of them right now. The cabbage, pickled red onion, and chipotle mayo were perfect accoutrements to the crispy chicken. The carnitas taco was classic and did the job. The food was great!!!
The reason for a 4 star was that our food took a really long time to come out. We were told they were making the chips fresh, however, the chips gave stale store bought chips. It wouldn’t deter me from coming back though.
Overall, I...
Read moreOur group of four had visited during the Maritime Festival, so there was a significant number of people using their outdoor serving setup as well as being indoors at both the bar and the tables, so we were expecting a long wait. My fiancée had always wanted to eat here though and had already been walking so was tired so we inquired about seating with the greeter. To our surprise, we got right in to a table that had just been cleaned from the previous guests.
Everyone was friendly and our server let us know what the specials were as well as a heads up to what they couldn't provide on the menu (they were busy after all, and supply shortages in this COVID world have hit everyone pretty hard I imagine), and the food and drinks (both mixed and fountain. Its so easy to get fountain drinks wrong, most people assume the bad stuff is normal)were absolutely delicious with generous (but not absurd) portions all around. The lobster guac and el santo nachos were particular standouts and I think our bill for four of us, even with multiple alcoholic drinks was well under two hundred.
I'd definitely visit again and recommend to anyone looking for quick bite at a...
