We came in on a Friday afternoon with no reservation. We asked if we could be seated with a more direct view of the water and the hostess obliged. I ordered the cold lobster roll which came with fries. I upgraded to the truffle fries. The lobster roll was delicious with huge pieces of lobster and great flavor. There were so many truffle friends and they were flavorful and warm. We also ordered the crab and lobster beignets (special) as an appetizer. The sauce it was came with was really yummy. The order came with 6 beignets. They were good but not what I was expecting. It was more like a fritter. My friends ordered the shrimp scampi which looked delicious. They mentioned how tasty it was and the garlic ..chef’s kiss. They were soaking up the scampi sauce with the piece of bread it came with. Our waiter, Landon, was friendly and patient. He offered suggestions, told us about the ferry, checked on us and didn’t disturb while we played games and looked at the beautiful view of the water. Where we sat, we had clear view of the water and people going by along with a bunny, gophers, and birds. Lots of wild life on the grassy area which some of us thought was adorable. Great food and service and...
Read moreIt was a rainy day so the rating for atmosphere was unfortunate, but there was no atmosphere. The server was nice and tried hard. The food we had was awful. Clam chowder had no flavour - just creamy potato glug. The grilled Caesar salad was something out of a horror story. My friend ordered it thinking that the word “grilled” must mean that it had some grilled chicken in it. Silly her. The plate when it arrived was a chunk of burnt lettuce with a bit of Parmesan cheese. And when we say burnt it was charcoal. No Caesar dressing, no nothing. I am amazed that anybody calling himself a chef could bear to put something like that on a plate. It belonged 6 feet under in a garbage dump. They tried to excuse it by saying the cook had discovered this exquisite dish while working in Key West. Different type of lettuce maybe???? What a shocker this place was for us. If they hadn’t charged us $64 for this swill (with a beer and a glass of wine) it would have been funny. As it was it...
Read moreOur evening at PORT in Greenport was nothing short of unforgettable. Chef Terrance and his exceptional team delivered a culinary experience that blended coastal charm with elevated flavors.
We started with fresh oysters, followed by fried green tomatoes topped with a five-pepper jelly that brought just the right kick. The wheat fish dip was smoky, rich, and undeniably addictive. The evening crescendoed with spicy tuna and salmon sushi, each bite a perfect balance of freshness and finesse.
But let’s not forget the spicy pineapple margaritas—a true chef’s kiss. Sweet, bold, with just the right heat—they set the tone for a vibrant summer night.
The hospitality was top-tier, warm and seamless, and the dinner-by-the-water setting only deepened the magic. PORT is a must-visit when in Greenport.
We’ll absolutely be back to indulge again in Summer 2025. Until then, we’ll be dreaming of that five-pepper jelly and another round of...
