The things I like about the Galleria Mall is the remodeling that has been done, it is a much brighter, cleaner and more modern-looking Mall than the dark dingy looking place that it once was. Also they are hard at work bringing new restaurants and entertainment in as they should if they want to continue to thrive during these times that malls are struggling all around the country. Now for what is in need of change/improvements at the Galleria and the reasons why I'm only rating it One star, is their so called smoking policy that they supposedly have in place, but enforcement is found to be non-existent. I recall when they first implemented it they were so proud of it that they couldn't get the word out fast enough, it was covered by our local news agencies and even the major news Network reported on it. But now more times than not when entering the building you will find yourself walking through a cloud of smoke. And a lot of it's coming from the mall employees themselves, and even though security while seeing this taking place will just turn their heads and look the other way without ever saying a word, but it really shouldn't be surprising because on occasions they themselves can be seen violating this no smoking policy. I believe that having a no smoking policy that's never enforced and going to a place where smoking is permitted is pretty much the same. So if you're going to advertise it as being such at least enforce it around your entrances, because there are people that have health issues that really can't/shouldn't be exposed to it. Now for another very important matter is what appears to be their lack of care/compassion for their disabled customers. And the reason I feel this way is it has to do with one of their security personnel that they have. Everyday she parks in the handicap parking space by Billy Beez, (they only have five in that area). And apparently, mall management allows their employees to occupy the few handicap spaces that they do have for their disabled patrons seeking to do business there. But it was one day last week in particular that was most disturbing to me. It was in the early afternoon when I happened to notice an elderly lady pushing her elderly (I'm guessing husband) in his wheelchair across the parking lot and having a very difficult time doing so, (all the while this was going on the guard was sitting in her car eating lunch) my heart went out for that elderly couple. Yes, the guard has a placard displayed in her window and by law has every right to park there, but it doesn't necessarily make it right. obviously there are some people in need of a handicap placard more then others are. This guard walks the Galleria floors all day long with no issues, and if you watch how good she moves it should make you wonder why she even needs one in the first place, it does to me anyhow. She arrives at work very early in the morning when the main parking lot is nearly empty, so it shouldn't be too difficult or she shouldn't be that lazy as to where she can't find a space that is fairly close and walk that short distance so that some elderly, disabled person could have the space that is up closer to the doors. COME ON GALLERIA MANAGEMENT PUT SOME RULES IN PLACE OR DESIGNATE PARKING SPACE FOR YOUR EMPLOYEES TO PARK IN! so that those limited spaces that are there will be reserved for your customers who are in need of and could benefit from rather than have a car sit there all day long while that person is inside working an 8 hour shift, all the while your customers are out there searching and waiting for spots to open up. That guard and the Galleria management should be ashamed of themselves. I realize it's a long post/review it's just that what I Witnessed I didn't like, and unlike the people mentioned above, I have a heart! Which allows me to care and show some compassion for the disabled, elderly. P. S. In making changes to those policy's it would make it a much better experience for all while visiting your establishment. And only at that time would I give you a...
Read moreAh the good old Galleria Mall. Been here before prepandemic, before i started writing reviews, They had lots of stores from Forever 21, Build A Bear, Halmark, borders (closed), Disney Store (closed), a sears (closed), Mount Fuji, aereopastele, victoria secret, macys, jc penny, Target, and AMC movie theatres. Been here several times as a teenager shopping with my mom. I think i even saw cody simpson here one year. Always enjoyed shopping here. I do like the pallisades mall better because there are more choices and it is bigger. This mall only has 2 floors. Also they didn't really have any arcades, but noticed that they have opened one when i went (Round1). They also have something called urban air for kids. Went here today Thursday February 29th 2024 to browse and look around since i was called out of work, and by the mall. Parked by the movie theater, and it was very easy to find parking. First looked in hot topic and found a cute freddy kruger (from nightmare on elm street) keychain, and a Green Day American Idiot shirt. But decided not to buy any. Mall was easy to walk around in, and was very clean. Then checked out Five below, couldn't really find anything that i was interested in, but oh well. Then, went upstairs to Forever 21 and looked around there. Found some cute stuff there that i brought. and only spent $20.00! Next walked around the top floor a bit, looked in the hallmark. i sort of miss the hallmark that used to be in monroe because of their cute gifts. walked out not buying anything though, but they did have a cute stuffed snoopy. Next walked into my favorite store- Bath & Body works! looked at candles, the new scents that they have. found out scent that i may have liked from online but tried it and it was too strong! (Which is why i do suggest going to the store, at least there's a try me type of thing.) i did buy 3 things from there, and only spent 16.00! walked the whole mall, then went back to the parking lot and went home. overall very clean mall, and everyone is...
Read moreSo ... I don’t often do this but please do not attempt to take your child to see Santa at the galleria in Middletown we waited 30 minutes to be told to come back in an hour after we were skipped ,then we stood online for three hours to be told we had to pick a package before even seeing our photos and the kids weren’t really interested .there is one person working one person taking pictures one person helping you print and one person taking payment it was horrible!!!! this one woman is trying to do all this and is most likely exhasted herself but also very nasty. To top it off the experience a terrible thing happened as it was about to be our turn ... a woman with a disable child came to ask about photos all of us frustrated parents agreed that she could take her boys before us so I approached the woman taking the photos and said it would be fine to take our place , I couldn’t imagine trying to bring my disabled child wait on that line or to have to drag him out on another day in this cold to get what should be a quick photo with Santa she denied allowing it and said she would have to shut her line down and that she could only follow orders . Uhhh I am giving up my spot so now I do not understand she turned the woman away shot down my request after we waited and waited and no one else minded all the people on the line behind us were awe struck by the NO . I wanted to tell the woman if there was a hell she’d be sitting in it one day but maybe her boss is very strict I’m not quite sure all I know is humanity is lost and so is whoever is in charge of Santa pics over at the galleria I really do not suggest taking your child there for photos it’s a mad house and really Badly organized. First time I’ve ever had a problem to say the least today was my first bad experience but I will NEVER GO...
