BEWARE if you are going to stay here be sure any money you pay them on site is with a prepaid card for the exact amount. Provident Oceana has spent the last 4 days making unauthorized pulls from my bank account. We used our debit card to pay the $100 pet fee upon check in on 07/26/2025. We are staying with family and this rental was PAID IN FULL prior to us checking in. There is no room service. There is no mini bar where we could possibly be accruing additional charges. Provident Oceana has been making unauthorized pulls from my checking account in all different amounts across multiple days. Even now that we are checked out and headed home (08/01/2025) they are STILL pulling money from my account. When we took the issue to the office they claimed it wasn’t them and they had no record of these pulls happening in their system. However, all charges are coming directly from Provident Oceana which is the same account that took our $100 pet fee. They claimed there was nothing they could do to help us. The manager called and stated she would refund our $100 pet fee on 07/28/2025 and as of today 08/01/2025 we have yet to receive that refund and we are still having money taken from us. It’s odd because we tried to pay the $100 pet fee in cash and they would not allow it. We attempted to speak to the manager in person yesterday 07/31/2025 but were informed by the front desk that the manager is on vacation, and the person at the front desk was unable to do anything for us. So either their systems have been hacked which is a HUGE issue, OR their stealing money from people and lying about it. Either way BEWARE and if you decide to stay here, keep a close eye on your accounts. Something isn’t right here. Below you can find all the screenshots of all the money they have pulled without authorization and magically “can’t find any history of.”
This was our first time staying at Provident. Originally booked for April but had to move it to July due to the current situations. Megan at the front desk was great and willing to work with us since we had to move our trip. We stayed on the gulf front side.
Location is great. There are no restaurants or bars immediately around so you do not get that noise but there are some a half mile in either direction you can walk to. Also a Publix walking distance.
The view was amazing. We were on the 4th floor, set back enough to not hear anyone on the beach but close enough to hear the waves. There is a rooftop you can go eat or hang out but honestly the view was just as good from our balcony so only went up once.
The room was awesome, full kitchen, dining table and chairs, 2 bedrooms and 2 baths. I think the couch folds out too. But the walls are thin. Depending on what other guests are around depends on how annoying this may get. The couch was pretty uncomfortable too, although the other chair was comfy. Only 2 small chairs for a rather large balcony, would have been nice to have a longer or more chairs. Also, for being a newer complex, the room was already a bit worn.
You can use either pool, we preferred the one on the bay because it had a prettier view and had sun in the morning. The one at our building you couldn't see the ocean. There was also a pool company that came out and cleaned it quite a bit that we noticed during our stay.
The only reason this doesn't get 5 stars is because our check in experience was a little off, very rigid, no real explanation of anything (It was not Megan who I believe checked us out) and the room was not as clean as we would have liked (even if the current pandemic was not happening). I had to clean out some cabinets that were sticky and the glass doors had fingerprints that were not ours. Also, they didnt do room cleaning at the time and I felt they could have stocked up the room a little more with coffee, condiments, paper towels, etc. We called and got more but it was one of those things that maybe could have been anticipated for an almost week long stay.
Regardless, we...
Read moreAt 12:05 (general manager's authorized check-out time of noon) an unknown (and not in a uniform) individual which was perceived as a vagrant by the way he dressed, entered our unit without ringing, knocking, or announcing himself. I asked him who he was, as I did not recognize him as an employee (I was a repeated guest). In a rude manner, his answer was - What are you doing here? You should be out of the room by noon (we were in the process of loading our cars). Obviously, management did not care to train this individual in customer service. I informed Lisy, the front desk assistant manager, about the rude treatment received. She explained that she had given him a list of the guests leaving at noon and that we were not expected to be there. But she did not seem to understand that the problem was the way the employee handled the situation, which indicates that she too lacks customer skills. I was a repeated customer and I have always treated the employees well. Over time, I have seen the deterioration of these units and the lack of upkeep due to poor oversight. Although the building appears well built, the furnishings are of the cheapest quality and are coming apart. There is no water pressure in the showers. The floors are sticky and the kitchens are supplied with plastic utensils that although damaged are not replaced unless requested. The stainless steel cookware is not properly cleaned and there are no products to clean them adequately. The paper towels are useless, the cheapest quality in the market. I was previously considering buying a unit, but I have changed my mind and we will not return to...
