I want to give The Molloy a fair review so I’ll quickly leave some ratings below. 5/5 Staff friendliness. We were shown around our room and promptly helped when we had questions or needed trash bags. There was always someone available during the day to ask questions and the ability to text any needs we may have to them. 5/5 Location/Views/property amenities. Right on the beach with a private area safe for lounging or letting kids run and play and excellent beach views from the pool. The views and outdoor seating were absolutely incredible. The pool was heated just enough to take the chill away which was perfect. You can borrow umbrellas/chairs/grill kits. We dragged other people’s chairs back from the beach late one night to avoid a charge as the policy states there are fines for left chairs and we were not sure how they would figure out who left them. There are plenty of tables and chairs outside to enjoy reading/sunbathing/dinner. 3/5 Room. There was a fridge/microwave/dishes (though dirty)/coffee maker. You will need to wash the dishes in the bathroom sink which we did not mind. Beds were very clean and comfortable. I suggest ditching the dirty decorative pillows. We knew the room was dated and were fine with that. We could not figure out what qualified it as a deluxe room other than possibly having a nice view. It advertises it can sleep three but the two of us had trouble maneuvering around at the same time and would take turns sending the other outside with a book or a coffee so the person inside had enough room to get cleaned up or straighten the room. Just know it is small, but suitable! 2/5 Cleanliness. We stayed in a room that was known to be dated/not yet remodeled and were absolutely fine with that being the case! Outdated just meant a small blue tile bathroom, a gold trimmed closet, and a few nicks and scratches on the walls/dresser. The small/older nature of the room was just fine and had a gorgeous view and private entrance with comfy beds! However I am giving the room cleanliness a 2 because it’s clear they only broom (not vacuum or mop) and our feet were black if we did not wear sandals in our room. It desperately needed a mop for a beach hotel. There were dust bunnies all over (lamp/side table) showing they don’t wipe down all surfaces regularly. The dishes provided had some hairs on them from previous guests so we had to wash those ourselves. Missing batteries from the TV remotes. Sand in the bottom of the closet and dust thick on the top of the shower tile showing they really only clean the base of the tub (which was sparkling). It seems a quick broom, fresh linens, and a clean tub/toilet were the extent. Needed a deep clean for the price we paid…especially when they’re calling it a deluxe room and soliciting tips by leaving an envelope with our housekeeper Kayla’s name. I’ll add that they may have been willing to re-clean the room had we requested but after a 14hour drive and a hefty cost it was easier to just wipe down what we needed to and get our vacation started. That sort of request and delay should not be necessary. 3/5 Parking. Parking is tight and sits directly on a busy highway making it hard to pull in and out. There is a lot of foot traffic and our car was broken in to the first night and rifled through but luckily we were smart enough not to leave valuables. But this is not the fault of the hotel. Just be careful with young children in the lot near traffic and keep valuables out. Overall we liked the hotel and had a fun vacation but are giving it an average 3/5 stars because the cost did not quite justify the accommodations. This is a very middle of the road stay boasting magnificent views and would keep most families comfortable! We just reserve the 4th and 5th stars for hotels that go the extra mile in cleanliness and comfort.

Didnt want to give good review because it's a gem and dont want folks to know about it. But in reading other location reviews I concluded that most people are rude, always expect more but dont put in effort researching and will jump in to leave negative reviews but not many will write good posts. We (mom & 13 yr old son) stayed first week December 2019 after our 3day Universal trip. I needed R&R and hes never been to the ocean. Had the perfect stay. Clean room, excellent location! Great beach access, pool was warm, bed was comfy, pull out couch too. In room 12 cup coffee maker (super neccessary for me) and kitchen was equipped with all we needed to cook in room or grill outside. Susan was amazingly professional, accommodating, and kind. The other gals on staff were great to us too. They made us feel so welcome..infact my hubby and I will be back soon and I cannot wait for him to experience TI and Molloy's

We’re recently had the pleasure of staying at The Molloy - Treasure Island Suites & Cottages, and I can’t say enough good things about my experience! Firstly, the cleanliness of the room was impeccable. It was clear that the staff takes great pride in maintaining a tidy environment, which made my stay much more comfortable. The location is another highlight. Being situated on Treasure Island, I was just a short stroll away from the beautiful beach and local attractions. It was the perfect spot for relaxation and adventure alike. Furthermore, the staff at The Molloy were incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to ensure that my stay was enjoyable, providing great recommendations for nearby restaurants and activities. Overall, I highly recommend The Molloy for anyone looking for a clean, welcoming place to stay in a fantastic location. I can’t wait to return!

We stayed in a King suite with pull out sofa (renovated right by the pool room 9) family of 5 Positives We booked as a family with 3 separate families so 3 rooms, we did ask to all be together, 1 of our families was not by the pool like us, but it is a small hotel so it wasn’t a huge deal-their bathroom was NOT updated with a very tiny bathroom and shower so make sure to ask about that ahead of time.

Our room was great, plenty of room for our family of 5 . King sized bed was very comfy. Bathroom was small but worked as needed. (Shelves or a medicine cabinet would help) The pool and location to the beach were awesome!! Loved that they provided free umbrellas and chairs for the beach, you do have to take those to the beach yourself so keep that in mind it’s not a very long walk though. AC worked great rooms stayed very cool, adequate clothing storage but bring hangers for the closets (2 closets 1 dresser could have used another dresser) Negatives

Beds- Pull out bed was very uncomfortable for the kids. Blankets very thin bring a thicker blanket for the pull out couch. Bathroom-Shower head in the bathroom was terrible no pressure, but did the job to clean us. No fan in the bathroom or air vent so it got very hot and steamy, we actually ended up cracking the window and putting a mini fan in it to vent some of the steam from showers and bathrooms smells, that helped. There was 1 towel rod for wet towels and nowhere at all to hang wet clothes, more hooks for wet towels and a retractable line for wet clothes would be a great addition

Pool- pool closes at dark so no swimming for the kids after 9, no music, playing in the pool, cups by the pool, pretty much just don’t have too much fun or the owner will come out and ask you to stop, a little disappointing when we had several 11-14yo boys just wanting to play, there was one family there that was either related to the staff or came a lot and they were allowed to do whatever they wanted and used the grill and shelter house our entire trip from sun up to sun down.

“Laundry area”-there are 2 washers and 2 driers for the entire hotel and the hours that guest can use it are 7-9am or 9-11pm so basically do not expect to be able to do laundry-this very misleading one of our biggest negatives.

Towels- There is a basket in your room that you put your dirt towels in then you put it outside your door at night and the “refill” in the morning, there were many days we didn’t have enough for our family and we just had to share, but for us that was not a huge deal.

Bedroom-there were only 2 outlets in the bedroom and both were on 1 side of the room so the side of the room that has the dresser and mirror had no outlet at all (would be nice to have that bc this was a good 2nd area for me and my daughters to get hair and make up ready since the bathroom is tiny) luckily we brought a extension cord power bank that we use on cruises and it worked out great.

Parking-2nd biggest negative for us. There are not even close to enough spots for guests. So you can double park behind a family member or car of someone you know if you can find a spot out front or you have to park across the street. Not the easiest with little kids and carrying things.

Overall we really did have a great week and would stay here again, the price was great and you have to expect some issues with that price. It seems it’s still a work in progress so maybe some of these issues will be fixed by...

I rented one of their cottages for a three day stay as a surprise gift for my parents. Before I did this, I drove out to the Molloy and viewed the room they would be staying in. It seemed nice after a quick walk-thru, but a list of problems became apparent during my parents' actual stay. As bad as they felt, my parents called and asked me to come out so they could show me the problems. None of the window blinds worked properly and had to be manipulated to get them closed. There were very few available receptacles in the room and those that were not being used were so worn that plugs would fall out. The shower drain was so bad that you would be standing in several inches of water after a shower. On the second day of their stay, another guest decided to cook with a propane fueled turkey fryer and set up the unit less than three feet from their front window and door. All of these issues are at most annoying when taken individually but add up to a very uncomfortable stay. When you add the problem of filth to the equation it becomes a horrendous situation which caused my parents to leave early and come home. The cabinets and appliances were filthy and greasy including the cookware. The fan blades in the bedroom had quite a layer of grime on them showing it was not touched between guests. The wall unit air conditioner had towels stuffed around it for insulation and the inside of the microwave door had peeled so badly, it was covered in rust. I provided a written list of these issues to the clerk before we left and got a later call from the manager or owner. After a couple of conversations she did refund me for the one day we did not use. I try to leave positive reviews when I have a good experience and avoid extremely negative reviews in general so as to provide benefit of the doubt to the business I am reviewing as many times problems can be one-time things that are easily corrected. However, this experience was obviously a product of extreme neglect. I do hope they can make some major changes and improve as there are so few beach cottages left in an area dominated by high rise condos. EDIT: I have since changed this review to three stars because although the experience illustrated above was accurate, I have since been given a full refund and sincere apology from the owner. He seems genuinely anxious to address the issues I listed and I would consider giving them...
