From an individual who has traveled the last 15+ years, I will give you the most honest review and assure you I will never stay at this property again.
What you do not know is that this “studio” is a conjoined room, with a door separating it from Unit 4. You will hear everything from the next door unit. Such as opening a bag of snacks, them placing their silverware in the sink, even the sounds of relieving themselves of gas. In addition, you will hear all the noises from above you in that unit. Doors opening, chairs sliding, footsteps, conversations, etc. I took video one night of all the noises as I laid there, not able to sleep, and being in my second trimester of pregnancy, I so desperately wanted to get that rest. We should you when you pay $1000+ for a stay. The noises you could hear were unbelievable and it was as if the other tenants and their movements, their conversations were being held right there in your room. This unit is closest to the road, which is BUSY at all times of the day. Sharing this just to be completely transparent. The room had about as much privacy as a tent. There were walls, so you couldn’t be seen but there was no other privacy to be had.
This listing also included that there were bikes on site. This is inaccurate and not true.
The lack of cleanliness in the outdated bathroom, felt as if we were at a cheap motel. The rest of the room had been renovated but nothing was done with the bathroom so there was grime along the tub, random hairs found when we first entered, condensations builds up in the window, therefore not having any ventilation in there and mildew is present in the window sills.
Once we checked in we received a phone call and text message from a site manager, Jodi with Vacasa and she throughout the trip would either not respond to our questions or concerns. Or follow up with conversations we had had. Once when speaking with her on the phone I had asked “How are you?” when opening the conversation and her response was “Not doing very well but I’m awake.” And this was in the afternoon when we were inquiring about some things.
During our stay we met with a couple who were staying for 2 weeks- they had said they had come to this property for years, however it had recently changed management. They had seen a significant difference in the care and cleanliness of the property and were disheartened by it. They were in Unit 1 and if anything, you will want that Unit in order to have the least amount of noise but that must be booked outside of this listing.
Using this property and vacation as a babymoon, was disappointing in the upmost way. The only valuable thing that would come from staying here is the direct access to the beach. That was the one and only good thing to come from it. We have already booked a stay for later this summer in this same area but can assure you it will not be at this location and want others to know what type of experience they could have by...
Read moreThis review is for Unit 1. What a deplorable disgrace! | At $300/night, we expected cleanliness, at the very least. The BR carpet was filthy & stained, the a/c unit was riddled with mold, had only 1 luggage rack, & it had a very small dresser. The bathroom had a nasty rusty bobby pin stuck to the floor, rampant & thriving mold in the tub caulking & surrounding tiles & windowsill, cracked tiles under window, ancient shower knob riddled with mold, both towel bars have large areas of peeling finish exposing wood beneath, and a nasty looking jury-rigged piece of laminate around the wall-mounted faucet & knob. The kitchen has a sign taped above the stove stating "$50 fee for leaving dirty dishes" but a lot of dishes/pans stored in cabinets & shelves were dirty, the coffee maker was horribly encrusted with years of built-up coffee residue, the sink has a hole cut out next to the faucet that is covered with nasty, peeling scotch tape, filthy windowsills with moldy grout, there is a huge crack in the wall underneath the a/c unit that's large enough for your fingertips to fit in, and the a/c unit & grout around it is just rife with mold. There is only 1 teaspoon in the silverware drawer - the rest are large tablespoons; the silverware/cooking utensils and dishes are sadly lacking and in need of replenishment. The living room has no other seating besides the sofa, there is only 1 tiny table lamp; we never could get the TV to work - though Ashleigh, the housekeeper, was very helpful with this issue - so it was a no-go. The bedroom TV worked, but good luck with the remotes trying to change channels or find the channel guide!|There was one incident when the entire place had no hot water for a couple of hours, which necessitated taking cold showers. as we were getting ready to attend a reunion dinner at the Yacht Club in downtown St. Pete.||We've been coming to this same hotel for about 12 years because we love the location; when we first found it, the owners at that time did a wonderful job of keeping up the grounds & landscaping & other upkeep. ||We are so disappointed and saddened that this gem is now so blatantly neglected and in such a state of woeful dilapidation. If this property were located in a questionable neighborhood, we could understand this level of neglect. It is unconscionable that it is in the beautiful paradise that is Treasure Island. ||Shame on AirBnB for allowing this property's listing on their website. Needless to say, we will...
Read moreWe had first visited this motel a few years ago when it was still Beach Side Palms. My family reserved 3 rooms at Two Mermaids Resort in December 2021 for a family vacation that was planned for July 31, 2022. On June 26, 2022 my son in law received an email from Vacasa telling him that his room was no longer available and gave him a list of other options in the area to reserve. He ended up reserving a room in a condo near Two Mermaids. I never received an email giving an update on our reservation with Two Mermaids and neither did my other son in law until after WE contacted THEM asking the status of our reservation. It was then that we were informed that the motel had been sold and the sale had been finalized on June 2. I was told I could inquire with the new owners about making a new reservation with them. Of course this last minute change created lots of undo stress and uncertainty regarding our plans which were only 4 weeks away. We ended up obtaining new reservations (3 new rooms) which were miles apart from each other, not at all the vacation we had planned! I still do not understand why Two Mermaids would wait until 4 weeks before our planned arrival to inform us of this change because public realty records show that the property was listed for sale in January of 2021.....one month after we booked! Going forward we will not patronize this establishment, not will we ever recommend them. This sale and transition to new ownership should have been smooth and seamless. Unfortunately for us, it was...
