I was seen at this facility early morning (4AM)on February 6th. There was no wait. I went directly to a room. The doctor was in almost immediately. I informed her I was in the area for work and had experienced severe pain while swallowing. I told her I was at the urgent care the evening before and had a step test which was negative. No tests were run at Kettering. I was given a numbing liquid I was told to drink. However the pharmacy later told me I was not to drink it was was to swish it. I went to work and struggled throughout the day. I immediately returned after work that day in absolutely unbearable pain. I waited nearly 3 hours sobbing in the waiting room. When I was taken to the room I was told the Dr would be in soon. When the doctor came in I repeatedly told them it was not my throat that was causing this pain. I did not have a typical sore throat. It was my lymph nodes. I was visibly swollen. I had to ask for them to perform blood work as I was told that morning I did not have any infection. The doctor agreed but said it would not change her plan of care. She informed me my white blood cell count was nearly 3x why it should be. (One would think infection). I was told nothing more about it. I had to tell them multiple times I hadn’t been able to drink fluids since early that morning and nearly 12 hours later could still not swallow without severe pain. I all but had to flat out ask for fluids. Then they brought me several pills to swallow again, causing excruciating pain. I didn’t quite finish my fluids when I hit my nurse button to use the restroom. I expected to come back to finish them and discuss what was causing my excruciating pain. When I came back a nurse was in my room telling me I was being discharged. I informed her I didn’t have relief and I didn’t even know why my white blood cell count was so high. She told me what the Dr Diagnosed and said that the nsaid I was given would kick in within the hour. I was told to drink cold drinks, eat ice cream, and popsicles and to stay away from warm foods. I once again told her I wouldn’t be eating either because I cannot swallow without excruciating pain. My comment wasn’t acknowledged. Needless to say I was totally let down by this medical facility twice in one day. My boyfriend drove 7 hours to come get me and drive me back home as I could not fly home again. I had to leave my work trip to seek treatment w/ my care providers. Although the staff was very kind I felt as though my treatment wasn’t taken seriously and my complaints were taken very lightly. I was in excruciating pain, unable to swallow my own spit, and I was dismissed as if I was lying. Very disheartening. If you live in the area I’d recommend driving out of the area to find another facility. Additionally, The Cincinnati Bengals should find another facility to call their “Official Care Providers”. As it was plastered on the front of...
Read moreI’m sorry to leave such a review, but I feel it’s important to share our experience. My son underwent a total knee replacement due to decades of osteochondritis that had severely damaged his cartilage. After being discharged from another hospital, he came to our house for recovery but soon became severely ill with intense nausea, vomiting, and the inability to eat. Without being able to eat or take his necessary pain medications, his condition worsened.
He requested to be taken to Kettering Health in Troy, Ohio, hoping for better care than our small local hospital. Unfortunately, what we experienced was deeply disappointing. The majority of the nurses I encountered were either rude or seemed inexperienced, possibly overwhelmed by how bad his knee looked.
There was, however, one exception: a nurse who was kind, gentle, and truly caring. She spoke to my son with compassion, which was a sharp contrast to the others. Many of the other nurses either didn’t speak at all or spoke in a condescending tone.
One nurse in particular, a red-haired, heavy-set woman, seemed to have a personal issue with my son. He even mentioned that the way she said his name felt strange and unkind. I witnessed her accusing him of making another nurse cry, saying she “wouldn’t tolerate it,” instead of calmly investigating what might have actually happened.
I also observed unprofessional behavior from another nurse who, instead of carefully carrying items across the room, simply threw them. She seemed unsure of herself and inexperienced.
The red-haired nurse displayed a shocking lack of patience when assisting my son to the bathroom. After not having gone for over four days post-surgery, he urgently needed help. While taking him down the hall, I overheard yelling and apparently she was standing blocking him while threatening him from using the restroom, seemingly provoking him with the assistance of a female security guard. This behavior was absolutely unacceptable.
Aside from the one compassionate nurse, Kathryn (I believe that was her name), none of the others came to check on him or offer any support. Kathryn stood out for her patience, maturity, and genuine concern, qualities that were entirely lacking in the rest of the staff.
Based on our experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend this facility to anyone.

Read moreWent to hospital after experiencing severe pain in left shoulder blade and left arm.Nurse took me to a room and bp was 199/122 I thought it was my gall bladder. Dr disagreed and said he thinks it my heart. OK, he's the Dr.and I just want better. 199/ 122.... Leaves room. Never hooked up to Bp moniter even with that high of a number. I was there 7 hours They checked my bp 3 times. Turns out ot is my gall bladder . Now I develop a rash in 1 arm in there. I ask the Dr and he quickly dismissed it and NEVER addressed it, even after I ask what it might be, and it was obviously spreading...Not sure if Dr was upset it was gall bladder as he insisted that it NEVER causes left shoulder pain. I had to pull up an article from the MAYO clinic showing it happens in up to 30 percent of patients. So here I am 3 hours after release, in tears from the pain and very concerned as to what my bp might be now as when they RELEASED me it was 185/91. .... If I call an ambulance they will take me back there as it is the closest hospital.. Dr tells me to schedule with surgeon for gall bladder removal. What the hell am I suppose to do right now to get through this pain??. So Dr thinks it heart. Bp is sky high yet they don't hook me up to bp moniter? I will never go back nor would I take anyone I care about! I receive better health care from a vending machine. Yes, I know vending machines can't diagnose and treat but neither can Kettering Medical Center Hospital im Troy!! Who releases a patient with that high of a bp and pain that is only under control because they just gave me a shot for it...again ugh... Please, if you are in pain or having an emergency, drive the extra distance and go to Miami Valley Hospital. Looks like that's where I'm going to have to go. Kettering Hospital, Where you go to be discharged with a Massive bill and the same medical condition you came in for goes unaddressed.. It might be safe to go for a cold but heck, I'm not sure I'd even trust them with that! Written by a patient discharged onlying 3 1/2 hours ago who can't sleep because Kettering Medical Center did not help me and sent me home with an uncontrolled BP , a gall bladder that needs removed and an unaddressed rash that I didn't have...
