My wife (9 months pregnant) had 4 artist signed paintings framed for our nursery. The frames looked great, but we noticed that all 4 prints had a visible crease in the same spot and are essentially ruined. The frame shop attendant was very apologetic, but understandably had to refer this to store manager, Matt Adams, since the frame shop manager was not in. Here's where things went south. Matt examined and acknowledged the damage, checked photos of the originals then began to get very defensive. He said, "this is a business and it's Saturday, so you'll have to come back Monday and talk to someone else." I asked him to compare the photos (which were on a computer screen in front of him) with the damage again. He refused and said that he was too busy to handle this. We spent $370 on the frames alone, so I'm well beyond irritated at the way this was handled. The artist has generously offered to replace the paintings at no charge, but Michael's refuses a refund at this point. Hopefully, the frame shop manager will handle things differently. Upon opening the package it is immediately evident that this will not work. These were not crystals they were flatback rhinestones... I go back in and tell them. Employee advises me I can go fetch my receipt and get a refund. Pressed for time I politely decline and go hunt for the correct product. After awhile I figure out they don't have it at all. Now I'm a little miffed, so I go fetch the receipt out of my car in order to return the rhinestones only. Not the glue. Not the new chain I bought for the necklace. Just the rhinestones. Different cashier. Tells me no returns bEcAuSe CoViD. Whatever. Left the receipt and the crystals taped together with a note for the manager to go find this review change their mind refund it and call me to remove the review....
Read moreThis store used to be so friendly. Whenever I go in now the front end staff, I think her name is Cathy or Catherine, is honestly the most unfriendly, hateful, rude person ever. I waited in line for a few moments, she was the only cashier, and she completely walked off while I was the only person in line. Then she came back and just looked at me and did not greet me. I tried being nice but couldn't even get a nice reaction from her. She demanded my email and said "have a great day" in a snarly tone.The rest of the staff there is friendly and sweet. Maybe they will hire better front...
