I went to the movies on a Monday night. The movie was at 7:45pm. The parking lot was trashy, like cigarettes & cups. The trees weren't trimmed, in the parking lot. If, you had a high profile vechile, it would scratch your car, depending on the area. Thank goodness I wasn't in my brand new truck! If you get your tickets online, they charge you extra, like 9-10 dollars. We bought 5 tickets, online. The concession stand, had 1 register open. And, another employee just walking around the counter, doing nothing! My sister, got popcorn, it wasn't fresh & too salty. I waited in line, for the lady to tell me they were out of pretzels. I was disappointed, so I asked for nachos. They were out of nachos too!!! There was no sign or notice, letting me know they were out of things OR JUST DIDN'T WANT TO MAKE THEM. The employee didn't care, she just said get something from the grill menu. I'm not okay with ordering chicken tenders or fish, from a movie theater... not for $11 bucks. How do you "not have" pretzels or nachos, but you have burgers & chicken, at a theater? Oh, and since they had nothing I wanted available, I got a large drink. It was $7 & change, for a large drink. The theater floors beyond STICKY! Oh & after paying for a $7 large drink, all the bathrooms were OUT OF ORDER! I truly don't believe that. It looked like it was late, and someone wanted to go home early, and they didn't want to not wait on customers. I had 3 kids with me. All of us had to pee! Management needs...
Read moreI guess I'm partly just unlucky, and I'm typically a forgiving patron, but I've had bad experiences 3 of the last 4 times I've been to this theater. 1) They went ahead with the showing of a SW: TFA even though they knew the projector bulb was flickering out. I went to the next showing on another screen, which resulted in about 45 minutes extra of me being at thr theater. 2) First staff argued with me that the aisle lights were supposed to be that bright in a showing of VVitch (a largely black film which was made orange on the sides thanks to the ridiculously poor lighting); ultimately the manager backtracked on what the first employee said, saying she knew it needed to be fixed, and another employee said they had been getting complaints besides mine. The manager gave me a free pass. Okay cool, but I'm waiting a while to come back so you can get it straight. 3) They moved ticket sales to concessions, which have no signs about listing times, and I stand in line for about 8 minutes only to be told that my showing was cancelled because of a projector issue—now that's better than with Star Wars where they showed it anyway, but I suspect they still would have showed Warcraft anyway if the sales were close to what Star Wars was doing back then. Anyway, I left.
Statistically, you'll probably be fine. But if you have a problem, I'm skeptical that they'll do much to make it right. They are playing a numbers game, only hoping to retain the masses who care less about a...
Read moreMy husband and I went to watch a movie here tonight. Growing up, the Malco was the “nice theater” in town, being larger and more up-to-date from the other brand. I was severely disappointed this time. There was one worker in the whole lobby, and she was working concessions. When we ordered, she said we couldn’t order a canned drink from the bar without paying AT the bar (mind you, no one was working at the bar counter - so we would’ve had to pay for our other stuff there, then walk to the bar for that drink and wait for the entire line behind us to get their concessions before we’d get served for the rest of our order) so we skipped that. When we got to the theater, it had obviously not been cleaned because there were fries and chicken strips on the stairs. When we got to our seats, the cup holders were missing in some seats, and nails were exposed in others where the upholstery was missing. As if all that wasn’t enough, the air wasn’t on so it was very warm and stagnant the entire time. To be sitting there for 2.5 hours for a movie, I was sweating by the end. I think I’ll stick to the Cinemark for a while until they get it together...
