Susie Q Fish Company — Attraction in Two Rivers

This little family owned store has been a fixture in Two Rivers for decades. The LeClair family has been fishing the area around Two Rivers (Trivers, to the locals) for some 130 years now. Go peek around back to see their boats. These sturdy little boats are still very hard working. I believe they go out for whitefish on a daily basis. Now, the store.....the first thing that hits you when you walk into the place is the intense odor of fish and wood smoke. It slams into your olfactory system like a linebacker blitz. Whoa, whoa, whoa! I'm not saying it's a bad thing. I find it attractive and beckoning; but it is pretty intense. Yesterday we went there to get a pound of lake perch. Right now they have a line on perch from Green Bay. Looking through the cooler you will find smelt, salmon, trout, white fish. Most of it smoked. You have to try the Door County cherry wood smoked salmon. It is THE bomb! There is a stand up freezer with various pre-prepared morsels for deep frying. Bags of wild caught shrimp are a nice plus. When you patronize Susie-Q's you are not only getting healthy, tasty food (think omega-3's), you are also supporting a long time family effort in an industry that is a mere wisp to what it once was. As you drive away, you will notice the aroma of the place following you for a while. Still...not...

Super customer service and a great little fish store. Suzy Q is a fish store from the famous Lake Michigan commercial fishing fleet. They have many varieties of smoked fish, lobster, and other seafood products. Excellent customer service. We had a slight mix-up on my smoked fish order. On of the nicest ladies sent me home with some smoked fish from their stock. The next day, she called me after she found my order. I asked if she wanted her fish returned. She said to keep it as they were sorry about the order. I was able to pick up my order, and keft a verygood tip for EXCELLENT customer service. Unbelievable experience. The team at Suzzie Q's is by far the best fish house I have ever used. We caught 3 nice king salmon in Sheboygan WI and drove them up to Suzzie Q's to have them smoke them in their special Maple flavor. Not only is this the best tasting smoked fish in the state. The ladies custom packaged the fillets and Fed-Ex the fish to our friends for a Saturday delivery.
