This Stop and Shop location is clean, well-stocked, and has a spacious underground parking area. The only complaint I have regarding the store would be that it doesn't stock Perri brand sausages even though other Stop and Shops that I've been to did.
Normally this would warrant a 4 or 5 star rating, except one of the store employees was cartoonishly awful, yelling at three separate people (including myself) because of her personal failings within the short amount of time between my arrival in the checkout lane and leaving the store. The mere fact that this person was ever hired, let alone allowed continued employment, drops this down to a 2-star rating (not 1-star because the store is nice and you can use self-checkout to hopefully avoid this employee).
As another review has noted, all shoppers are requested to wait in aisle 6 only, no matter which checkout lanes are open. Respecting this, I waited at the front of aisle 6. Another shopper cuts in front and simply stands in line behind the person in front at the only open checkout lane (number 3). Seeing this, I decide to just go wait in line in that lane. A minute or so later, this employee begins to yell from a few lanes over that I should be waiting in aisle 6 (which at this point has a few other customers). I go over and respond that I was waiting in the lane itself because I had been waiting in aisle 6 but someone else cut in front. This employee then lies to my face and says that she was standing there the entire time and didn't see me in aisle 6, but after seeing that I wouldn't budge on the matter, gives it up.
That alone is already plenty bad, but in the very short amount of time between getting my groceries and leaving, I had the opportunity to witness this employee being awful to two entirely different people, which is what prompted this review. As I was checking out, I asked the man ringing me up (who was very polite) whether he could cash out our Coinstar receipt, and he responded that I should go to the customer service desk for that, which I did. In front of me was another man already waiting at the customer service desk, where no one was manning the front. We wait for a while as no one shows up until the clerk manning the lane finds a moment to walk over and knock on the door to the customer service desk a few times for us. The employee from earlier finally comes out and begins to berate the customer in front of me saying he should have yelled for her by name instead of knocking, which is of course absurd since he wouldn't know what her name is in the first place.
Finally, we get up to the front of the line with our Coinstar receipt. In this interaction we are not the victims of this employee, strangely enough. Instead, she begins yelling at the guy manning the register that he should've been the one to cash out our Coinstar receipt. Keep in mind that the guy in lane still has people he's checking out while this employee basically just sat in the back not even watching the front of the customer service desk until the door was knocked. She cashed out our Coinstar receipt in the end, but only after grumbling that the other guy ought to have done it.
Anyway, I begrudgingly have to be in the same species as this person, but that doesn't mean I have to be in the same physical location as them.
