New Wave Hair Salon 浪髮牽 — Attraction in Upper Arlington

THE BESTTTTT. I’ve been coming to Chris at New Wave for probably a decade now, and he’s the most skilled/experienced hairdresser I’ve found. He came highly recommended by not one, but two friends. My friends had very different hair (one super thin and one super thick), but somehow both managed to have a lot of dimension and movement after a really well-tailored haircut. I specifically remember one of them asked for a cut that looks good without her having to style it, and it really did lay nicely with no styling required.

Over the years, Chris has given me the whole range of haircuts: short, medium, and long, from elegant & simple or more edgy, as well as emergency fix haircuts after another salon botched a dye job. He has done fantastic at all of my requests. I live in Georgia now, but I wait til I’m back in Ohio to get my hair cut here.

I checked this place out because it was in my neighborhood and my hairdresser opened up a new salon 45 minutes away from Columbus.

I must tell you, that my hair was in a shambles because a relative thought they could bleach my hair. I have dark brown hair, it's course and wavy. So the bleach (3 times) killed my hair and it was breaking off like crazy.

I scheduled an appointment with Leah and she was shampooing my hair and saw what dire straights my hair was in. Without asking she did a conditioning treatment after already conditioning my hair, free of charge.

She did a great job on my cut and got it feeling smooth. She was very meticulous and cut every tiny hair that was out of place. Since that visit I've had great haircuts.

Beautiful salon. I scheduled an appointment for a perm. Got it about a month ago. I have had them in the past they always hold so well, and there is a lot I can do with it. I was tired of dealing with straight/body in my hair. Not the body you think. Looked great when it was wet then went to crap after it dried.

Any who, the lady who did my hair was an absolute sweetheart. She is the reason for the 5 stars!

However, I do not think enough of the curl setting chemical was used or maybe the rods weren't tight enough. I am not sure but the curl is not there anymore. I am just going to reverse the perm to straighten it back out. Maybe I will try again in 6 months but it will be with bigger rods than the ones I have always had used on my hair.
