I just would like to share my boyfriend and I experience we had at this company for the first and last time. We remolded our kitchen. Last piece of our house to finish so it was a big project and one we were looking forward too. Hala was out salesmen. First initial appointments seemed ok. She came out to measure our old original layout a few times. What we wanted to stay the same. No major changes. We added a bar in our dining room was the biggest change we had. The first time I met her was when she came out with a laser to make sure all measurements were correct. After that appointment we had another one to final everything and pay for it. Picking granite countertops to our sink. Not too mention we had no kitchen since we demo it out for the new install. The cabinets took a month and half to be delivered. Not sure why. They don’t even un-box everything so you can see what your getting. When you pay 12 grand the cabinets shouldn’t be smashed on all corners. Nails shouldn’t be shown on some of the fillers we had and not too mention as a salesman I would inform the paying customer the filler doors will not match any of the cabinet doors. So that is one thing I’m super unhappy about. I can’t even put handles on them to make stuff match because the fake doors don’t even match. My spice rack she designed in a filler door does not even match and that has to have a handle on it and it doesn’t look good too me with one. I might add the fillers came glued together so we couldn’t even screw the door that doesn’t match to it. We had to glue them ourself. Not too mention no name brand on any of these cabinets. So for 12 grand what we pay for? We had to un-box everything when we was ready for install. Since delivery does not do it to make sure we have all pieces. My shelves had missing pins to hang them. Which was a week later to find out corners of these glued together cabinets were smashed with nail markings showing through. After we install our cabinets we had a time frame to template our countertops then schedule the delivery of our countertops. Which I might add our sink was still back ordered and the company couldn’t even call us to let us know what’s going on so we could schedule our template promptly. They had to call the template people to give measurements of the sink so we could template. After template Hala calls my boyfriend to inform him the square footage is off and we owe $146. Excuse me? You’re the “professional designer” and came out numerous times to measure and make sure everything was good even with a laser to call and tell us we owe more money because you messed up. I wish we told them to screw at this point but it’s been almost two months I want my countertops in. So eventually we had to call again. Which we were told it still wasn’t in. 7 weeks the sink still not in and for us to have to follow up to know is ridiculous as a company. So on week 8 we call again. For them to tell us it’s delivered at another location and we can pick it up. No you can deliver it. In between all this I bust out all paperwork we did with her that she rushed us through and not everything was signed to know we had a week to return damaged stuff ok now I have them installed so I can’t return. Then they tell us it be here last Friday and delivery Saturday. At this point I’m irate. So I show up to the company after work Friday to ask where my sink and corner piece is for my cabinets which we’re on two months now with this kitchen and they told me it would be there Friday at there location for them to tell me it’s not in yet.. needless to say I was not leaving till I had my sink and corner piece in my car that day because my countertops were coming Monday. Which was yesterday. I told them I wanted a follow up with Hala. She did call while I was at work and said she would call again Monday and didn’t. It’s ok though I wanted to share my experience this way and hope everyone does research before doing a major project with them. I wish we did one of our bathrooms with them to find a smaller disappointment then have...
Read moreAfter shopping around getting quotes and design plans from contractors in our area, we chose Kurtis Kitchen and Bath. Their prices were competitive but we got a great vibe when we talked with Hala at the Utica location who came to our home and discussed remodeling ideas. She designed two or three plans for us, talking about the pluses and minuses of each plan and thought of ideas we hadn't considered. Once we chose our plan, she was knowledgeable in helping us choose all our granite, tile, hardware and cabinets. She was very helpful and the entire process and was low pressure and professional. We loved her "go with the flow" attitude, a joy to work with. Kurtis should be proud to have her as the face of their business.
Once the job got started we met our Project Manager Dave Curtis, a stand-up guy and a straight shooter which we loved. Dave hit it off with us immediately, taking charge and planning out the entire remodel from initial demo to the very last piece of scribe molding. We always felt everything was taken care of, a great feeling during a stressful time. Dave was very personable who responded quicky to texts and phone calls and was always on top of the job making several visits to our home. Life happens, things get damaged, or back ordered but it never was an issue, everything was always handled in a timely fashion. If we every had questions or concerns, they were addressed without haste. I always felt like he was always working to keep the project moving along no matter what. During our demo, several unforeseen obstacles such as plumbing, wires, duct work and an inadequate header presented themselves. Dave had it handled immediately with fair change order prices, we never felt nickle and dimed. He had folks scheduled immediately to take care of the issues.
During the entire construction process, the workers were professional, courteous and respected the fact they were in someone else's home. Even during the messiest stages, they took extra care to minimize dust and clean up after. All the cabinets and drywall work was top quality, we couldn't have asked for better.
We LOVE our new kitchen and can't thank Hala and Dave at Kurtis Kitchen and Bath enough for the outstanding work. You guys are rock...
Read moreWe are totally pleased with the outcome of our kitchen project by Kurtis Kitchen. Our design consultant Cindy listened to our wants, answered our questions, gave suggestions, and guided us through the necessary selections. Cindy then explained the process and timeline of the project once the project was scheduled and begun. Cindy figured the project cost within our budget. Cindy was very knowledgeable about all the options and the overall process and was very easy to talk to and really put us at ease about our big decision.
Within a few days, Kurtis Kitchen got back to us with a proposed start date and Project Manager Andy came out to take measurements. We had to adjust the project dates a little because we had a long weekend planned in the project window. That was easy and we were set for materials delivery to our garage about 5 weeks from our first meeting with Cindy and the actual work in our house starting about a week later.
The workers were professional and always cleaned up before they left for the day. The teams included 2 to demolish the old 1955 ceramic tile countertop, backsplash and sink and reface the cabinets and install the new doors and drawers; 2 installed the quartz countertop and sink; the plumber and apprentice; and the gentleman that specializes in tile work for the backsplash.
Andy, the Project Manager, clearly went “above and beyond”. He takes a personal interest in making sure things are done correctly. He is detail-oriented, has passion for his work, and clearly...
