First off, I want to be again by singing. I absolutely love the store. You hit the clearance racks and you can get so much on the dollar. It isn't even funny. I was able to find scrubs for my daughter for her nursing job. Hunting stuff for my son and my father. Candles are super cheap and name brand and they have literally two aisles dedicated to pets. Not to mention the jury is so cute and if you have little ones the toy selection is on par. Now if you're wondering why I only gave this store one star, this is why...
They close at 10:00 p.m. about 15 minutes until 10:00 p.m. And then the Asian male approaches me and says ma'am, are you even going to buy anything or what we close in 15 minutes....
Excuse me sir, but I have an entire cart filled not to mention I just spent $200 in your establishment. So yes I am going to buy something. Excuse me that I was looking at the earrings for my daughter. Not to mention there had to be 10 other women in there and he decided to harass me about if I even am buying anything please. I wouldn't be in your establishment if I wasn't buying anything. I took this very offensively every other employee. There was extremely helpful and nice and didn't have a problem with me being there at all. I even struck up a wonderful conversation with the lady at the register but this Asian male of course he did not have a name tag on and now I see why is not what I call good at customer service. When you work retail you deal with all sorts of customers. I didn't do anything wrong to these people. I was spending money at their store and I did not need to be harassed by the little Asian male rushing me when your store wasn't even closed and then insulting me asking me if I'm even going to buy anything. Shame on you. Corporate will be contacted and if it was up to me, you'd lose your job for your disrespect to women. Shame on...
Read moreI love this place because the items are always changing. They buy things out in bulk or when another store goes out of business or after holiday sales or basically what any smart shopper would do except they do it on a massive scale. They are very transparent with their prices and you never have to try to guess if you're getting a good deal because you are. They have toys and activity kits, blankets and cookware and pillows and furniture. They have food and snacks and notebooks and school supplies and art supplies. They have clean supplies and face masks, car care kits and body pillows. They have everything and it's always changing and it's always at a great price. I always go in there and spend more than I think I was going to because you just can't pass up that kind of deal. the only thing that I would improve about this place is that it takes forever to earn a coupon and then it's pretty much immediately expires. If I earn a coupon for 15% off or whatever, it should not expire 5 days later because I'm probably not going to be back within 5 days. Their coupons also take an extraordinarily long period of time to earn. I understand that they have great prices but for a loyal customer who is spending over $200 every time they come in which is about once a week or so, it's not still take 5 months to earn a 10% off coupon two days to notify me that I have it and then expires the...
Read moreOllie's is a phenomenal store to shop at; however, this location isn't a great representation of what the typical Ollie's experience is like. The Utica location is very small (teeny tiny aisles) and congested with no actual flow (not LEAN friendly at all)....customers literally have to line up in aisles such as the toy section like an assembly line and wait a turn to view each toy, so, bring your patience with you. Everything is basically just disbursed wherever it will sort of fit throughout the store. Prices are amazinggggg and the rare finds are even more awesome. The staff at this location should definitely not work in retail. Staff are either not knowledgeable about the location of items listed in their sales ad, avoid providing any assistance and they lack basic communication skills sets that are needed for even mediocre customer service from what I've witnessed on each and every visit. This is my fourth time patronizing this location since it's close to home but next time I'll just make the drive far West to frequent my favorite Ollie's location(s). Oh...I almost forgot, be very careful with expiration dates at this location...even items such as medicine are sometimes expired but still being sold....DO NOT TURN A BLIND EYE TO THE PRICE TAGS COVERING THE DATES (very...
