I have loved this market for so long and have always enjoyed such a well mixed variety of vendors. It pretty well goes year round and the team that works the Market are always so friendly and kind. The market is well situated on the west side of Esther Short Park and when at capacity will sprawl over to connecting streets. So convenient whether you’re driving in, taking public transportation or walking your way there, you’ll find very easy to arrive any way you can.

I do have a couple of suggestions that I am sure are already in discussion between the Market’s management. The first being the location of prepared food vendors. I spent a few hours there this past Sunday and it appears that a “Great Food Clog” has developed at the south end of the Market. The lines are long and the shoppers get cranky because so many people are waiting or eating while others are trying to maneuver through the crowd. Beyond the crowds are the levels of smoke from all of the grills fryers and other cooking devices that it lingers and is so gross to walk through. I think this is one where they can form an internal team to figure out a better location and means for food vendors so that the crowds and lines can coexist for the masses. I know they’ll figure it...

A wonderful Sat/Sun farmers market from March to October each year, often with additional holiday markets in winter. Excellently curated selection of vendors offering flowers, live plants, produce, canned goods like honey and hot sauces, wood crafts, pottery, kombucha, wine, humanely raised beef and pork, art and photography, metal work, baked goods and desserts (check out Granny Fi's Shortbread -- sooo good!), clothing and accessories, and much more. The market prioritized health precautions during the pandemic, which was much appreciated. Market staff and volunteers are always present, kind and available to help. Adjacent to Esther Short Park, this market is both child and (on-leash) dog-friendly, with a playground and open grassy areas. Close to the waterfront, too, for additional family-friendly recreation (and restrooms) before or after enjoying the market. Free on-street parking is typically available -- the most I've had to walk from my car is a few blocks. A donation-based market-sponsored parking lot is also available. Highly recommend this market as a fun weekly tradition and local shopping opportunity here in...

I absolutely love this market, we go here nearly every weekend. It goes beyond just produce, with numerous food and drink vendors, live music, and much more. I find something new each time I go. I have bought quite a few plants for my garden here as well and I'm tempted to buy more every time we go.

I do recommend going early in the day as it gets very busy in the afternoons. There is some street parking available - in addition, there is a parking lot which takes donations for parking (we always give $2).

Accessibility: There are a number of disabled parking spots in the nearby parking lot but it is bit of a trek from the lot to the market and then a lot more walking to see everything in it, so just be advised if you have mobility constraints, a visit here can definitely...

Just seems to get better every year! A treat for the eyes, ears (loved the jazz this morn) and the air full of the smells of good food. Be ready with self discipline or a lot of $. Lots of people bring their dogs--rule are posted for keeping animals under control. Happened to go on the day of Fire in the Park... Lots of fun activities for kids, and a chance to see what fire and rescue teams do, lots of neat vehicles, free stuff, etc. Of course Esther Short Park has playground, restrooms, water features for kids to play in... It's just a fun place to go, unless you are on a diet. Vendors of all kinds... Honeys, jams, mushrooms, nut butters, salsas, sausages, plants and flowers, veggies, berries ... lots of hand crafted items you want to buy right now!
