Art Van Atta Park — Attraction in Vandalia

A huge park that's nice and peaceful, it has a very long path for walks and jobs, you'll be able to see wild rabbits in the grass, there's a patch of wildflowers and such for animals and insects, a bunch of little workouts and stretches along the paths too. There's a nice lake that you can fish in which usually has a big white duck nearby. You can see the fish swimming around and the turtles popping their heads up too.

Back by the tennis courts on the other side near the lake there are 3 areas that you can have get togethers at which have grills and picnic style tables. One of them even has a fireplace.

Great park, a little secluded, u might pass it up if u didn't know it was there. Has all the amenities to have a good time. Wide open areas to play sports, picnic areas and tables, walking paths, areas for kids. If you're a nature freak, u can explore the wooded areas and there's even a small stream to cool your feet in. Art Van Atta Park is a beautiful spot for walking, picnicking, or simply enjoying nature, but if you're coming here to fish, be prepared for disappointment. The pond is completely overrun with lily pads, making it nearly impossible to cast or retrieve a line without getting tangled.
