This hotel messes a lot of basic things up and then acts put out as it simultaneously tries to make you feel guilty for asking for help. Upon checking in, I was told the base price for the room was $30 dollars more than what was shared to me in my booking confirmation email. When asking why, I was instantly given a attitude and got some run-around answer about how the taxes weren't calculated correctly in the initially shared price.
I booked the room specifying that it was for two adults and two children, one of their King Studio Suites with a pull-out sofa sleeper. Upon trying to set up the sofa bed for my two young children, I realized that there were no linens or pillows for it. I walked down to the front desk and asked if I could have some sent to me room, to which I was told "we do not have any". Somewhat flabbergasted by the bluntness of this statement from a Hilton hotel, I explained that I booked the room for four people and need the linens and pillows to accommodate four people. The amount of concern or care about this statement fell into the category of negative, the gentlemen at the front desk could not have cared any less that my family would have to sleep without pillows and blankets. He then insisted that I had actually only booked the room for one person and insinuated I was lucky to be allowed have three other guests with me to begin with.
Beyond all of this, I was unable to get my AC to cool the room below 78 degrees all night and there were literal piles of garbage and empty beer boxes overflowing out of the cans in the hallway. I didn't even attempt to bring this to the attention of the staff as I already felt unwelcomed and somewhat intimidated.
This visit seriously has me second guessing my loyalty to the Hilton brand.
Edit: I’ve just learned that I brought bedbugs home from this hotel. Please...
Read moreThis Hilton is managed very poorly. Having been a franchisee of Hilton, owning two locations outside of Houston, Hilton Garden Inn, and Hampton Inn and Suites, I checked into the Home2Suites by Hilton and was shocked by the lack of the management's ability to control the noise and the indoor swimming pools water being tracked throughout the hotel. I checked in Wednesday and had to call the front desk to have my room cleaned after the 3rd day...leaving a $20 tip for the housekeepers to make sure it was cleaned. That night, there was a soccer tournament for elementary children. I was forced to call the front desk twice to complain that I could not sleep after 11:00 p.m. The operator apologized. The next day my housekeepers thanked me for my generous tip. I'm a diamond club member, obviously, and when I returned on Saturday, the room had finally been cleaned, but the noise from the kids was unbearable again. I called the front desk again and they assured me they would take care of the noise. At 10:30 p.m. that night there was a knock on my door, and I was asked to leave the hotel. All because I had gone up to the room above me to nicely ask to many children to please be courteous. I asked for their parent 1st, but they were not in the room. I left the room at 11:00 p m. ,as the front desk clerk insisted I be gone before her shift change. Not only was I charged for that day...but it took me 2 hours to find another room in the area because of the soccer going on. Plus, the room cost me double! I call the manager, Alex but he never returned my call. I'm now in the process of calling the headquarters in Virginia to let them know of my experience. I would not recommend this location as the front desk is very unprofessional and the entire operation is below the standards set forth by the Hilton...
Read moreThis is a fairly new Hilton property line. Home2 Suites for me is perfect for my weekly stays in the Dayton area. The suites are functional in just the right way. Plenty of desk space for work. The kitchenette is supplied with ample dishes, flat ware, glasses and mugs. you'll find a toaster, microwave and medium sized refrigerator/freezer. Shower/bathroom has plenty of counter space & drawers. Is easy to keep clean and neat all week long. The Suite has a lounge area that can be shielded from the bed area by a convenient curtain should you have a 2nd person sleeping on the fold out sofa bed. Plenty of dresser drawers & space and a just right size closet space, closed with a curtain. The rooms are devoid stuff you never need or use. In short the room is comfortable and inviting. Like home... Imagine that! The Staff is fantastic. Genuinely engaged with the guests. I was made to feel welcome from the second I stepped into the lobby. I was received a call from the front desk on the room phone about 45 minutes after I got in to my room asking me if my room was to my satisfaction. Yes indeed I replied. I have not had that attention to my satisfaction at a lodging in many years. The breakfast buffet is ample. You'll find much off the normal fare that hotels typically offer but at Home2 Suite it is a cut above. The staff in charge of the buffet is actively working to grow the selections. I was directly asked what I would like to see added. It turns out my preference, vegetarian selections are already in the works! Oh, their coffee is pretty good too. Close by is Taylorsville MetroPark. I run the beautiful trails there after work and another reason I choose to stay in this part of town. Home2 Suites is icing. I'll be returning to this Home2 Suites each week for the duration of my...
