My husband and daughter got a piece of steak off the same big steak when we first got there. My husband's was mostly fat. He said it tasted terrible. I suggested he go get a different piece. He did not. I cut my daughter's piece of or her. She said Mommy that meat tastes bad. I ate my salad and then took a bite of her steak she was right it tasted so spoiled bad. I smelled it it smelled bad and looking at it had a grey look to it. I told the waitress quietly as to not make a screen. She said she would tell someone. I could not even eat the rest of my food tried a different plate and desert could not eat. None of us really ate good. My husband said the pot roast was no where near as the last time we were there. My husband said I know what I can eat here he loves it, he goes and gets the I guess you would call it chopped steak in gravy. Like hamburger with gravy on it. Cuts it up it was barely cooked very rare. Again I show and tell waitress. I said did you end ver tell anyone. Yes she said she told the man cooking the meat but he didn't have time to talk to me. I expected she would tell a manager who I was told also didn't have time to talk to me. I said well you were a good server but to bad no one had time to talk to me and that I would reflect this on my review. She said well they were busy with customers and I replied I am a customer. The bathrooms were very dirty. I have never been so disappointed it this place. We drive from Miamisburg to Dayton Beechwood to go there. Would not recommend anyone...
Read moreThe customer service was wonderful- a rarity these days. Damianic (sp?) had the brightest, genuine smile to greet us. He really made us feel welcome. Miss Linda, our waitress, oozed southern hospitality. Her warmth was contagious, and she kept our drinks topped and plates cleared. She was busting her butt to keep everyone in her section comfortable and happy. The cooks and other staff at food stations were also super pleasant.
The food was surprisingly good. The food on the salad bar was fresh - crunchy veggies crunched, lettuce was bright green, etc. Caesar dressing was good, but ranch dressing was watered down and lacked flavor. The steak was delicious, as well as the green beans, bourbon chicken, roasted chicken, and yeast rolls. The fried shrimp and corn muffins were good but not spectacular. The ribs tasted good but were overcooked. The sweet tater casserole was good flavor but weird texture. Desserts have been pared back but still a lot to choose from. Everything was tasty. They make the chocolate fountain marshmallows ahead now (covid) and they were surprisingly tasty, though I would like them as singles rather than 3 on a stick. Brownie was a smidge dried out from sitting out but still filled that chocolate need. Bread pudding was hot and just the right amount of gooey. The cheese cake and carrot cake were solid.
Overall, this was a surprisingly enjoyable evening out. We would give them another try, especially if we could sit in...
Read moreLove the food bar awesome selection. It's Always good. They could use more help Tonight though they seemed short handed On this visitor waitress was outstanding very attentive, checked back frequently this visit was a plus for service .we drove 46 miles from our home town to enjoy what we call a special treat for our family. food wasn't being filled fast enough for the crowd there. dinner.plates stayed low . We used bowls for a couple trips seemed like once the plates did come out .they were being takin and stayed low . Other problem the desert bar was scarce for deserts .bread pudding was hard and had the same pan with just a corner of the food I. The pan.they never refilled it left the old like it has to all be gone before they refilled it? Sadly disappointed as our older relatives loves it .they said the bread was rock hard in a couple places and pudding dried. They tried it but didn't eat it . They said it sat all day ipu der the heat lamp it wasnt 👍good it was dried out . What is usually a good dinner wasn't this time at the Dayton location.maybe next time we will try another restaurant in the area .maybe golden corral is a not going to be oir option for a awhile . for the price of the meal I think we can wait a few times and explore new food options in Dayton area. maybe we will try them in a...
