Latin Market Venice — Attraction in Venice

I came in at 7:30, I’m new to the area and the hours listed say the restaurant is open until 8. I’ve been looking for good spots to make regular purchases at. I try and order tacos and the gentleman in the kitchen said NO, only burrito and quesadilla, the kitchen is closed. I told them if they can’t make food I totally understand and I will come back another time. They insist and make the burrito and quesadilla with mandatory steak because they aren’t offering anything else. The total for these two items and a %30 tip because I thought they had gone out of their way was $30.00. I was so excited to try this authentic Mexican, I took a bit of each dish and threw it in the trash immediately, idk if this is their norm or if they misbehaved extra because I came in after their preferred time, but this food was disgusting, cold, tasteless, lifeless, and upsetting. Next time just let the person know that the kitchen is closed instead of spitefully charging them $30...

There are two types of foods I'm passionate about - Latin food and hamburgers. My wife and I used to go to Mi Pueblo all the time, our favorite Mexican place to eat. I attempted to cook some Peruvian food on my own and needed some ingredients, so I searched the area and this place showed up. I saw they had a restaurant in the back of the store, so my wife and I decided to have lunch there. Our lives were forever changed, when it comes to Latin food, no exaggeration. The flavors, fresh ingredients, speed of service has no equal that I've found.

The Latin Market is the definition of a local hidden gem. If you like Latin food with a heavy Peruvian leaning (even if you don't), you have to give this place a try. Absolutely phenomenal, my favorite is the carnitas - the flavor...wow! I wish I could...

Okay place to eat, the chicken taco meat was very plain, steak meat quality was poor, the burrito was white rice, black beans, and plain meat. This unfortunately has been the worst authentic experience that I have had. I came here on a recommendation on my review quest for the best tacos and this fell way way short. Staff was great and the location was very clean. You can tell when something was made with love and care and this was just warm convenience store quality.
