I have purchased several suits from this men's warehouse over the last few years. While my experience was not great I told myself it was good enough. Last week a full 6 days before my son prom we proactively went to Men's Warehouse (Vernon Hills) to rent a tux. One of their professional measure my son up and told us the tux would be ready on Saturday the day of the prom.We paid (not a small amount of money for this rental) and thought nothing more of it. My son pick up the suit on Saturday tried it on and the professional told him it looked great. He was not so sure but was convince by the professional that it looked a million dollars. My wife an I were out and did not see the suit until he was about to leave for the prom. The jacket was at least two sizes too big and the trouser were three inches short. Needles to say we were very disappointed and upset for him, this special occasion spoiled. After the event I went back to Men's Warehouse (Vernon Hills) and asked how the suit could have been so badly measured up by the so call professional. The feedback was very very disappointing. I was told it was our fault, the measuring of my son was only a base that is used to ordered the tux (by the way we were never told this on payment), I then asked how could the professional tell my son the suit fitted great and looked a million dollars. Again the feedback was we were very busy on Saturday lots of people were picking up Tux for proms. I can only say to anyone who thinks of using this Men's Warehouse please think again, the staff I encounter were rude, had no customer service concept, and to be honest could not care less about me as a customer. Please vote with your dollars and look at the alternative that really cares and employs really...
Read moreOn September 6th I came in to have 2 pairs of pants tailored, got measured, and bought 2 dress shirts. This was a great experience; both associates I worked with were very helpful and positive. The main reason I am writing this review is so that this situation does not reflect poorly on them.
One of the dress shirts I was given was not in packaging – which normally would have been fine with me as it otherwise looked new. However, when I got home I realized the shirt had a foul odor and was missing some tags.
When I went to pick up my pants, I brought the shirt to ask if it could be exchanged. There was a different associate working this time that was extremely rude and dismissive – eventually agreeing to the exchange after initially implying that I was lying and repeatedly stating that this would be a one-time exception that they normally would not be doing.
After trying the exchange, the associate found that my shirt was no longer being sold in the store and told me there was nothing that could be done, reading off SKU numbers to “prove” that it wasn’t possible. After that, the only other solution offered was to reprimand the associate that sold me the shirt (which I did not ask for).
This is what stood out most – after displaying extremely poor customer service, this associate seemed more concerned with punishing a coworker than they were with resolving the problem for the customer.
Why was I not able to exchange a shirt that clearly never should have been sold in the first place?
I am getting married in June and will no longer be considering Men’s Wearhouse for my groomsmen, or for any other...
Read moreI knew what I wanted the groomsman to wear before I even walked in, and there was only one khaki colored suit to choose from which made things easy. I'm not sure what happened after that. The girl who measured both my husband and my dad must have been partially blind. Luckily, the weekend before my wedding my husband stood up in another wedding and I commented on how terrible his suit fit. Two days before the wedding we went in to try everything on and a completely new suit had to be ordered. The pants were too small, the jacket and vest too big. I knew of course then that there would be an issue with my dad's as well. The sales girl ordered my husband a new suit to be delivered the following day. She told me to call as soon as my dad tried on his and they would have anything we needed shipped directly to the resort where the wedding was. When I called later that evening to get a new jacket for my dad, and suspenders for 5 of the 9 suit bags that were missing them another girl told me that they couldn't ship to a resort, they've never done that before and basically that I was out of luck. She was so rude to me that my husband drove over to the store, had them take pieces from other pickups for later that weekend so that we had all the pieces we needed and we ended up getting the additional jacket delivered at 10:30 am the morning of the wedding. I can't understand why they had such an issue doing their job. Nobody checked the suit bags before we took them home- and it's not my job to do that. Two days before the wedding this was the last thing I wanted...
