I live 45 minutes away- but, whenever I’ve got something to do on this side of the water I book a room to avoid the hrbt nonsense. I chose this space because it was convenient to the event I was doing. All the commercial properties I typically book were way over the top with prices because the Oceana Air Show is also happening this weekend. Anyhow, when we showed up two young 19/20 year old girls from Athens, OH were dumped, ditched, and stranded here by their “friend”. The owners of the property put them up for the night while they await their parents to drive all the way down here to rescue them. That was one of the most generous things I’ve witnessed and no way a commercial property would have taken care of someone’s stranded family the way these property owners did. It’s rare to find empathy these days. Also, this review Isnt giving you grifters an opportunity to take advantage of these folks for being awesome- don’t screw it up for others. I’m going to make this my go to place every time from now on and I suggest you do, too! It’s not the fancier place, there’s no free breakfast, it’s not loaded with amenities, just bare bones accommodations conveniently located. It’s an old school solid, folksy, kinda space.

First off the website shows clean and somewhat decent rooms. False advertising.....the lobby and restaurant looked terrible.....very old facility with meager revamp. The hotel staff is rude and obviously hates working there and serving their paying customers. Parking lot is terrible with potholes, overgrown weeds and crowded spaces. Got into our room and it smelled horrible and made me think of bed bugs or roaches. The plaster in the bathroom had calcium deposit and was rotting along with soap scum and hair left from the previous guest in the bathroom. The doors were separating at the seams and rust was on the cieling of the bathroom. Ac units leaked water above our entry door and the walls are paper thin. Complained to management and was told the manager wasn't available found the assistant manager and he said it was my fault for not checking the entire room before staying past an hour. Also said the bathroom looked clean it wasnt his fault blah blah. Never would recommend nor reconsider staying at this hotel. Especially at $217 a night booked prior!!!!!! King room also

This place is disgusting. Woke up to a roach crawling on my arm. Slapped it away and jumped out of the bed. Looked over at the telephone and saw 2 roaches crawling on it. Roaches on the headboard. (Check out photos as proof.) There were also roaches in the refrigerator which I was not able to get a photo of. Upon check out told the front desk and she made no attempt to resolve the issue. Priceline said they contacted the property several times and management will not return their calls. According to everyone else's reviews, there is no way management doesn't know how nasty their property is. Perhaps we should be contacting the Health Department and get this place shut down. Priceline and Booking have been completely useless in helping me leave this review on their pages in order to warn future customers. Priceline and Booking have also been useless in resolving the issue. They shouldn't be promoting such a filthy, unhygienic and dangerous property on their platforms. Warning to anyone who is thinking of staying here, DON'T

My stay at the Ambassadors Inn & Suites has been unexpectedly extended, however thanks to the General Manager Shawn and his dedicated staff, what could have been a stressful, uncomfortable, anxiety skyrocketing experience, was anything but! Shawn's obvious expertise in this field in addition to an innate set of skills and sensibility that can't be taught in any school shows in all of the positions and staff here. The depth and breadth of customer service I experienced from the staff here hearkens back to the days when, as a customer, you felt heard and appreciated. This is something that has eluded me for many yesrs, though they have been filled with countless hotel stays. Not once have I seen anyone on the staff get frustrated, roll their eyes, or ignore a guest. Ben, Senior Front desk agent, has a very warm smile and calm demeanor that puts you at ease; even when a guest was in labor and had to leave via ambulance, and a bunch of other emergency vehicles were there including the Fire Department, Ben was seamlessly directing the detour traffic on property so that the guests were not confused and frazzled and the emergency response people had a clear path entrance and exit to do their jobs without being encumbered by anything. The cleaning and building maintenance staff he was always responsive and attentive. You can see from everyone that is employed here the care that they take, and pride in there work . They definitely go above and beyond; as someone who is not from the oceanfront nor used to staying extendedly in hotels and has extreme anxiety, Ambassadors Inn and Suites made my experience the most stress free that it could be. The location is divine; even though you are on the main road the property is set back far enough that feels like secluded. The property is very well lit; I was not uncomfortable or nervous walking anywhere on property day or night, and there is plenty of parking. The rooms are spacious, the price extremely reasonable and competitive anywhere, but given the ocean front location; that jettison's it's value skyward. This gem I have found in the Ambassadors Inn and Suites affirms that, in the field of customer service, which can be dominated by technology to include, most notably, the advancements in Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) proves that there's no replacement or equivalent for exceptional people in the world of customer service. Thank you kindly and know you will be my go-to and reccomendation...

Stayed here everytime Old Dominion started and ended classes for the year for about 3 years. My daughter was living on campus and we would stay in the area a few days after moving her in or out. I was just looking over the reviews and mind you I haven't stayed since May of 2019 but it was nothing like most of these reviews are describing. I know things change quickly and the pandemic wasn't kind to a lot of businesses. I hope they have in the near future, I'm almost anxious enough to book a stay just to see how much of the bad reviews are true or not. I thought it was fine. Nothing special or fancy but decent as heck price and it was never nasty and dirty. Close enough to walk to the beach without exerting yourself, I quick stroll, good for you but not one you'd be annoyed by if you were on vacation or what have you. I hate the rating they have ATM and hope very much that they are successful in the future and can get people on board with helping that change. What a bummer?! I hope this review helps in some way, probably won't considering I haven't been in a while, but I do think it's worth trying because in my opinion they deserved it during my time. I brought several different friends with me throughout years staying and they all agreed with me about the stay there and how they are shocked that any of this could be true. Things happen though and if so that's terribly sad, also if so maybe seeing this post will help them understand that desperate and drastic changes need to be made immediately and taken seriously or they could see a fate that is just as nasty as some of the bad reviews. Anyway, good luck Motel on 21st Street. I have faith you...
