My stay at the Ambassadors Inn & Suites has been unexpectedly extended, however thanks to the General Manager Shawn and his dedicated staff, what could have been a stressful, uncomfortable, anxiety skyrocketing experience, was anything but! Shawn's obvious expertise in this field in addition to an innate set of skills and sensibility that can't be taught in any school shows in all of the positions and staff here. The depth and breadth of customer service I experienced from the staff here hearkens back to the days when, as a customer, you felt heard and appreciated. This is something that has eluded me for many yesrs, though they have been filled with countless hotel stays. Not once have I seen anyone on the staff get frustrated, roll their eyes, or ignore a guest. Ben, Senior Front desk agent, has a very warm smile and calm demeanor that puts you at ease; even when a guest was in labor and had to leave via ambulance, and a bunch of other emergency vehicles were there including the Fire Department, Ben was seamlessly directing the detour traffic on property so that the guests were not confused and frazzled and the emergency response people had a clear path entrance and exit to do their jobs without being encumbered by anything. The cleaning and building maintenance staff he was always responsive and attentive. You can see from everyone that is employed here the care that they take, and pride in there work . They definitely go above and beyond; as someone who is not from the oceanfront nor used to staying extendedly in hotels and has extreme anxiety, Ambassadors Inn and Suites made my experience the most stress free that it could be. The location is divine; even though you are on the main road the property is set back far enough that feels like secluded. The property is very well lit; I was not uncomfortable or nervous walking anywhere on property day or night, and there is plenty of parking. The rooms are spacious, the price extremely reasonable and competitive anywhere, but given the ocean front location; that jettison's it's value skyward. This gem I have found in the Ambassadors Inn and Suites affirms that, in the field of customer service, which can be dominated by technology to include, most notably, the advancements in Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) proves that there's no replacement or equivalent for exceptional people in the world of customer service. Thank you kindly and know you will be my go-to and reccomendation...

Read moreStayed here everytime Old Dominion started and ended classes for the year for about 3 years. My daughter was living on campus and we would stay in the area a few days after moving her in or out. I was just looking over the reviews and mind you I haven't stayed since May of 2019 but it was nothing like most of these reviews are describing. I know things change quickly and the pandemic wasn't kind to a lot of businesses. I hope they have in the near future, I'm almost anxious enough to book a stay just to see how much of the bad reviews are true or not. I thought it was fine. Nothing special or fancy but decent as heck price and it was never nasty and dirty. Close enough to walk to the beach without exerting yourself, I quick stroll, good for you but not one you'd be annoyed by if you were on vacation or what have you. I hate the rating they have ATM and hope very much that they are successful in the future and can get people on board with helping that change. What a bummer?! I hope this review helps in some way, probably won't considering I haven't been in a while, but I do think it's worth trying because in my opinion they deserved it during my time. I brought several different friends with me throughout years staying and they all agreed with me about the stay there and how they are shocked that any of this could be true. Things happen though and if so that's terribly sad, also if so maybe seeing this post will help them understand that desperate and drastic changes need to be made immediately and taken seriously or they could see a fate that is just as nasty as some of the bad reviews. Anyway, good luck Motel on 21st Street. I have faith you...
