My fiance came here on 5/12/25 at around 4pm. Located pretty much right at the end of I264 it was easy to find. The parking was agreeable though I can see it might get a bit clustered when they get really busy.
The ordering is similar to Mission BBQ. You walk to a counter and order. No complaints there. The young lady that was at the counter was very polite and patient as this was our first time there.
We both had the Pork Back Ribs with fries, coleslaw and potato salad. We also had one of each dessert, the Funnel Cake Fries and Apple Pie Turnover.
We were given a number however the young lady at the counter brought our food to us. Great service. The folks in kitchen we laughing and having a good time and the staff that were leaving for the day all said bye to each. It genuinely seems as if these folks enjoy working at this place.
The bathrooms were very clean and stocked, but are single occupancy. Not a big deal.
The food was priced reasonably for BBQ.
ALL of the food was delicious and hot when we got it. The fries were hand cut and crunchy. The ribs were fall off the bone and juicy. We tried the Mahogany Sauce and House BBQ Sauce. Both were great but I personally enjoyed the House BBQ Sauce more. The Potato Salad and Coleslaw we very good as well.
The portions were fine for the price. We both had food to take home.
The two desserts were very tasty. ESPECIALLY the Apple Pie Turnover.
They carry Pepsi products and house made Sweet and Unsweet Tea which was a big deal for my fiance as she is a Wild Cherry Pepsi girl through and through.
They also had Malt Vinegar for the fries which lets me know these are people of refinement and culture.
The restaurant itself was very clean and had way more space inside than it looks from the outside. As soon as people were leaving they were cleaning the tables.
My fiance and I will have to come out to this area about once every six weeks for medical reasons and we agreed on the car ride home this will be our treat each time we come out this way.
Oh and they have a loyalty program which was easy to sign up for which is just a fantastic bonus.
Very happy we decided to take a chance eating here. It made a somewhat stressful...
Read moreHorrible food, horrible customer service. I don't understand the reviews here, best I can assume is the owners are buying reviews. There are tons of much better restaurants around there for anyone to waste their time and money in this place. First the food, everything was slathered with bbq sauce, even the brisket. I have never seen brisket getting slathered with sauce. There was no smoke flavor and no taste other than the bbq sauce. Sides were equally bad. Now the service, no one approached, asked or looked at us as we went in. We found ourselves a table and walked up to the counter with my toddler on my lap and the people on the counter didn't even look at us. It was as if they didn't want to serve us. Nevertheless I said hi, and asked to place an order. The girl taking the order was probably new cause she asked me where was the brisket in the menu! I showed her and then she took our order but instead of charging me for 1/2 brisket like I explicitly asked for she charged for a brisket sandwich. When I asked her about it she told me I showed her on the menu where it says sandwich, I showed her that it also says by the pound and I explicitly said half lb. Another guy behind the counter looked annoyed at me and said I will get it without addressing the fact that she charged me wrong. If you are wondering if they were busy, they were not. They had 3 table of guests, each with 2-3 adults, including us. Place was basically empty. It did fill up as were leaving and I noticed they walked up to the hosts podium as the next group walked in. I have never noticed Racism in a restaurant until that day. The same people who didn't address us, didn't ask us if we want a table or high chair for my daughter while I was carrying her, walked to the podium to welcome the next group of white customers (we are from Indian...
Read moreFood was so so—but I don’t think I’ve ever seen poorer customer service in my life. First I called to place an order, but was told they were too busy and they asked if I could place the order online. No problem, I understand small, local restaurants can get busy. After placing the online order, they called me back, saying they were out of chicken. Annoying—but I also understand, small restaurants can run out of products on busy days. I tell them to just remove the chicken from my order.
When I arrived for the pick up, I waited around for about 15 minutes, and not one employee inquired about about my pickup order. 5 minutes later I asked if mine was ready and was given a no. When they called my name, it was for a bag that had been sitting on the table since the time of my arrival 20 min ago.
To top it all off, they gave me something in place of my fried chicken rather than giving a refund. The whole experience was super annoying.
Just a tip for the business—it’s wise to ask a customer what order they’re picking up when they walk-in, rather than to leave them waiting for 20 min and the order is already ready!
Food was about 6/10. Pork BBQ sandwich definitely had a strange taste, but I don’t get all bent out of shape by an average meal. The customer service though—I give it a 2/10. That’s because:
(1)Didn’t want to accept a phone order (2) Made me wait without asking who I was picking up for (3) Gave me what they want instead of giving a refund.
Maybe they were just having a bad day, but if it’s always like that—then there’s considerable room for improvement.
I do believe in second chances and given all of the positive reviews—maybe I will give them another shot...
