La Terraza Mexican Grill — Restaurant in Williamsburg

I usually don’t like to leave negative reviews; however after tonight I have to. So we (a party of 22) went to eat here. We waited a long period of time for our food. Which also was ok. I don’t want to make it all negative, most of my family really enjoyed the food. It was really good; however, I ordered a steak meal, I added additional shrimp, my food came out cold which I would have dealt with. But I also ordered my steak medium rare and it came out well done. So I explained to our server the situation, she did offer to let me order another meal but we had already been there for almost two hours. So I declined and asked her to simply take it off the check. She seemed a little annoyed and walked away. Later when getting the checks, I noticed my meal was still there. I pointed this out and she said the manager made the decision. Ok, I asked her to let me speak with management. The manager came over and basically told me that. I ate half of the food, to which I replied, “but I didn’t”. Normally that would have been end of conversation for me but then he proceeded to tell me how they are a private owned business and could make these decisions. Out of 22 people who ordered extra so we would have left overs, they focused on the one that was not prepared...

The good: The food was awesome! We were really happy with all of the food! The staff was friendly and attentive. The price was great!

The bad: I dont really particularly see anything bad I can state. The staff had issues understanding some things during interactions but it wasnt particularly difficult to communicate. Maybe the only thing I could complain about?

It was an off time when we went so it was slow so not sure how theyd do during rush hours serving wise.

Margarita medium Daquiri Medium

The drinks were huge and yummy. The frozen strawberry daquiri was flavorful and wasnt horribly overpowering with the rum.

Amigos Dip: Very yummy. The dip and the chips were great. Not as good as some other dips ive had but very good nonetheless.

Terraza Especial: A great meal, the rice was awesome! Im not a huge fan of mushrooms but I mixed that and the onions into the rice and it was a wonderful experience. The steak was just delicious and spiced perfectly.

Pollo Monterey: An amazing chicken dish, the gf was so happy with it that she has changed her favorite mexican restaurant to La Terraza lol.

All in all an amazing food experience for a reasonable price. Had a lot of food, drinks, and still spent under 60 dollars for the meal (Not...

My husband and I went for Cinco de Mayo. W have been there before, and ordered takeout, so we know we like the food. We were there around 5pm, they were starting to get busy but still had some free tables. Since it was a nice day we asked to sit outside. There were about 3 empty tables along the outer edge. We were sat in the middle. The table behind my husband was seated next and then the table behind me. We got chips and salsa right away but no one came to take our drink order. The table behind my husband had their drink order taken, drinks brought out and food order taken. The waiter also checked on the table beside them. He never even asked if we had been served yet! We finally decided to leave but on our way out let them know that no one came to take our drink order, let alone bring us water! I mean the chips can be salty and the salsa has a little kick! You'd think that water would have been the second thing brought to us. Not sure if we will come back again. My husband has restaurant experience/family in the business. He's a stickler for the details of good service. Can't even blame it on being short staffed because they had workers all over the place standing...
