It saddens me to have to do this but this is just insane at this point. Even go down and look at the reviews from two weeks ago and people bringing up the status of the Men's locker room and you have management/owner responding but why has nothing been done?? I have been tracking the disgusting mess in the Men's Locker Room for 3 weeks now and know for a fact that there has been no mopping, no wiping of counters and no shower cleaning for ever 3 weeks!!! Think about that! You are talking about hundreds of sweaty men going in and out weekly and to not clean that space for 3 weeks is a major health hazard. There is a group of us that go during the week very early in the morning and we have written corporate, talked to managers and voiced our concerns and nothing has been done. I was just there this morning. Black mold growing above the showers....forming on the floors and the urinals....don't even get me started on the urinals. There is not enough water to flush all of the urine down so it sits and sits an sits and the stench is pouring out into the lifting area it is so bad. Combine this with the fact that they also changed the temperature in there also. When JERSEY STRONG was owning that Men's locker room was refreshingly cool with AC blasting...it was cooler than the gym itself. This is important because you are sweating after a workout and you go to shower the last thing you want is to start sweating after your shower. Now with the locker room temp up to 75° and the moisture from showers....this is why mold is growing rampant. What is shocking is that how come management hasn't rolled up their sleeves and gone in and spent an hour cleaning up that disgusting mess. What an absolute disgrace...how can someone consciously work at a place knowing that the bathroom/locker room is in that condition. Have we no dignity anymore? My next move is to call the health inspector and report them. Which causes me a major inconvenience because if they get shut down then I have nowhere else to go. But enough is enough at this place. WHAT IS NEEDED: GET THE A.C. BACK ON IN THE MENS LOCKER ROOM AND GET IT CLEANED IMMEDIATELY. DON'T EVEN BOTHER WRITING BACK TO THIS....JUST GET IN THERE AND FIX IT AND WHEN IT IS FIXED I WILL TAKE DOWN THIS REVIEW. UNTIL THEN I AM TELLING EVERY MEMBER TO GO ON HERE AND GIVE 1 STAR. For starters, this gym changed its name from “wow” to “Jersey Strong” because of poor reviews and lawsuits due to their deceitful, dishonest contracts... or so I’ve been told by an inside source.
But this is the main reason for my negative review... The Wall location is filthy once you get up close and it seems as though the same equipment is always being serviced but never actually gets fixed. Initially, I was going to freeze my account because I got a spinal fusion which prevents me from working out for the next 6-8 months. I decided to cancel it after speaking with the manager. When I called, I was extremely turned off by the customer service and management, Stephanie specifically. She was extremely rude when requesting help with this matter. I had to call several times because I was told I would get a call back and never did. When I would call would be put on hold while the gentleman at the front desk went to and from her office asking her questions and then proceeded to give me “no” as a response every time. When I asked to speak with her, I was told she was unavailable. Very unprofessional and an embarrassment to your establishment. Needless to say, Stephanie never actually called me back so I took it upon myself to keep calling. She was just as useless when I actually got her on the phone. Rude is an understatement. She gave me one word answers in a disgusting tone and was overall very unhelpful and cared less about losing a client. I asked for instructions as to how to cancel my account because I could not find it on the website to which she kept responding, it’s on our website it’s on our website. Perhaps, some management training would be good for her although usually you can’t change someone personality. It’s unfortunate because I do have a group of people I work out with at the ocean facility however they did understand the circumstances. It sounds like I’m not the only one who has negative things to say about this girl.
I will give credit where credits due. Most of the employees at the front desk are friendly, the Ocean facility is a lot cleaner/nicer and Michelle is a fabulous instructor.

Read moreI joined Jersey Strong in November of '16 with my daughter, who made me get the most expensive membership in order to take advantage of classes. My daughter moved. After a year, I tried dropping down to the $10 plan because I use ONLY the elliptical machine. They wanted me to pay a ridiculous amount of money to do this, rather than just change my plan. The manager whom I dealt with did absolutely nothing to try to satisfy my request. She was a smart ass with a nasty attitude. I stood at the counter for 5 minutes before I was asked "what's up?". My personal resolve was to discontinue my membership, for which I was given the run around. Apparently there's not a single desk clerk who has the ability to help dissolve a membership!!! You MUST go home to do this! The website is unclear, so I called the front desk and asked for help navigating through the site, at which time I was treated like an imbecile. When I finally gave her a taste of her own medicine, only then was this "girl" slightly helpful and a tad nicer. Customer service should always be a top priority when running a business. It certainly is not at Jersey Strong. Sidebar...nobody ever reached out to find out why I left, what happened, or if they could do something to make me stay!!! Additionally, there's broken equipment everywhere you turn! Also, when I asked where in my contract that it said I had to pay $132 to change my plan, I was told that I didn't sign a contract!!! My question then is why did I have to wait a full year to end my membership if I wasn't under contract???? They play games and rip people...
