I went to this location for a morning bagel just before 8am a few days ago. I've been here a few times and noticed that all of the employees heads were down when I first walk in. As I stood next to the bagel counter ready to place my order. No one said "Welcome" or "Good Morning", nothing. There were people seated eating but there was no one else in line but me. I assumed everyone was working on Uber Eats or Door Dash orders so I did not think much of it. I am in healthcare so I tend to be a patient person. I had a simple order so after a few minutes of no attention, I walked away from the bagel counter hoping to get someone else attention for service to no avail. There was no one at the register either. Finally, the employee closest to the bagel counter says, " Excuse me lady, if you want to place an order, you have to start here (in front of the bagel counter where I had stood for a few minutes with no help). She was rude-ish but I digress. I gave my simple order of Sun-dried tomato on Sun-dried tomato. Again, I was the only person in line. The male employee was still head down possibly working on orders and the other female employee was working closer to the back. No one on the register. A new patron walks in waits for about 1 minute the walks passed me to grab a cup and help herself to a fountain drink. She clearly a regular because she says hello to the worker in the back and they were on a first name basis. The customer then returns to the bagel counter to place her order and the employee literally runs down the way to assist her with her bagel. As Im standing patiently waiting for my simple order, Im watching other bagels being made and bagged I'm assuming for orders. Eventually, It obvious that my bagel in not being made today. I asked, "Sooo, is anybody going to make my order??" By now, there is a line and everyone is looking at me with total surprise in their eyes. Suddenly the employee that was suppose to be helping me looks up alarmed and says...."Oh!" I had literally been in the store for 10-15 mins total by this time. I said "Oh?!?!....Really?!"..."Forget it?!" Threw my hands up and stormed out. I never felt so ignored. Im trying to chalk it up as a simple mistake but it's hard to not feel like the color of my skin played a role for I was there only person like me in the entire place. I am a Dr. I am at all times professional in how I handle myself in public. Im not loud, obnoxious or rude. My literal biggest pet peeve is to be ignored. I will never return to this cafe'. I do have a few suggestions though. I think that there should be a greeting to every person that walks in the cafe'. Every day. New or old. I understand that Uber Eats, Doordash or catered orders have to be completed but there should always be at least one person paying attention to the people walking in and placing orders. Even if they are...
Read moreThe young man there was VERY kind and professional, made our food great and was just overall a good person. But the blonde/brown haired lady there was EXTREMELY disrespectful to my husband. She insulted him, rolled her eyes, had a nasty attitude, talked with such condescension in her voice to us. But had no problem turning to her coworker smiling and laughing, whilst looking at us as if we were wasting her time. My husband was giving our order and she rudely cut him off mid order, and told her coworker "sorry, he was talking over me." Referring to my husband to her coworker. He tried to order a coffee but she said "we're out." And tried to walk away and my husband had to ask what else there was with caffeine, she said "Espresso." While looking at us like we were wasting her time though she wasn't doing anything else other than leaning against the back counter next to a rag. He went up to ask for our water and she just sighed and pointed at an empty plastic cup, as if she had something better to do other than the stand around. Sad, inappropriate, unforgivable and VERY unfortunate. The only highlight was the young man's professionalism and work ethic. Someone ought to educate her on the finer points of customer service and at the very least exercise the use of words over gestures. Also, I confronted her about it afterwards and she said she was tired and getting off work as if that's an excuse for the disrespect. The young man answered my questions about when the manager will be in and held professionalism even after he was off the clock and apologized on her behalf for her service as she walked away. She even had the nerve to try and shame me for approaching him and asking about when the manager will be in and said "Why are you approaching a minor about me?" I responded with, "I'm asking him a question about your manager because of you, there's nothing wrong with that." It's sad that a minor has better professionalism than a...
Read moreI’m very disappointed in this deli. Been going there for years. Today I ordered my regular, turkey avocado on bagel roll. Apparently they only heard avacado, but not the turkey (she didn’t repeat the order so I didn’t know she didn’t hear turkey). I called them as soon as got to my destination, where I was going to eat before my meeting. She says “oh sorry I did not here the turkey only avocado. I said ok, I can’t come back now but maybe can get a credit for sandwich next time. She says, “no I only charged you for avocado”. I said ok, but I won’t eat this. Basically all bagel. So I have to stop again after my meeting cause I need protein and substance. If the deli makes a mistakes, they should make it right . It’s only fair. I paid good money for a sandwich I won’t eat, let alone after my meeting I have to find a place to eat. I would give this place 5 stars as food is good, just don’t like the fact they don’t own up to...
