After moving to Warren from NYC during the pandemic, it took me months of driving by the studio before I convinced myself to signup for a private session. I’m so glad that I did! My workout history included some Pilates sessions at Equinox, years of killing myself on the elliptical machine, and more recently, my Peloton. I was never an athlete, and am a generally clumsy person. Despite doing lots of cardio, I had stopped losing weight and I knew I was missing something.
Jillian, my talented instructor, has patiently helped me develop a true love for Pilates. She quickly learned how to work with my specific (in)capabilities. In just over four months, working with Jill has made me stronger and increasingly more capable of exercises that I never could have dreamed of prior to working with her. She’s really taught me to understand the importance of building strength as opposed to merely losing pounds. As a result, I have lost nearly two pant sizes.
I have worked privately with most of the other instructors, and each of them has taught me something unique that I would never have learned on my own. One thing I appreciate about this group of professionals is that they are always learning and improving their knowledge, while staying true to the core (see what I did there?) principles of Pilates.
In addition to working privately with Jillian, I take the Foundation classes with Andie and Elizabeth, when I have time. They do such a great job at explaining the basics, while still managing to make us work up a sweat. I have found that classes are great for utilizing the skills learned during private sessions, so I feel that they are beneficial to my fitness. I appreciate that instructors are always listening to what customers are interested in, so there is never a shortage of classes for people of any fitness level or preference.
The vibe is peaceful, the studio is always kept clean, and everyone is welcoming. This has been one of the best investments I’ve made in my own health, and has made me a true believer in the practice of Pilates. I’m forever grateful to have...
Read moreMy name is Heather King and I have been a participant of studio 47 for two years. Luckily, I reside at the Tourister Mills and it is an absolute luxury having this studio downstairs. The “why” of it all is due to how these classes and practice make me feel. My body is stronger, leaner, more flexible and my posture has improved. I attend 5-6 classes per week and enjoy the company of the other class members and the instructors, alike. There is not one instructor there who lacks regard for participant safety and care. All techniques are modified for the individuals need. Their anatomical knowledge of the body and of the Pilates method is “Barre” none (sorry, that was a cheesy pun 🤣). Mora and Elizabeth have built a beautiful community where we thrive and nurture our bodies, minds and souls through the expertise and creativity of the instructors. An extremely friendly and welcoming environment that you will be sure to fall in love with. It is now my way of life 💜...
Read moreI live in Barrington,RI and have been attending classes at Studio 47 Pilates for over 10 years. It is an amazing place to learn and practice pilates. The owners, Mora and Elizabeth, are incredibly welcoming and very professional. The teachers are all competent and encouraging. While the atmosphere is not at all competitive, the general attitude of the teachers and members inspires you to push yourself to grow physically and mentally. As a physician I feel very safe with the knowledge of the staff and feel that the classes are small enough to get individual attention which helps prevents injuries from bad form. My balance, posture and strength have improved dramatically through these classes. I have been to a number of different studios and this is without question the most professional and fun place to practice Pilates. Highly...
