Touching memorial dedicated to those who have been disabled through service to their country. The site contains plenty of seating, a water reflecting pool, statements regarding wounded soldiers from eminent leaders throughout history, and a series of glass panels containing stories and information about disabled heroes. Nice place to sit and relax and contemplate the cost of liberty.

There is so much to learn at this place. There are quotes from those injured in the war, and their family members. This place is free to visit and it is an open place, and it is open 24 hours. There were not many people when I visited this place around 9 AM on a Saturday. It is very calm and serene and is a place to reflect.

Really nice memorial for disabled veterans. It's easy to access and places to sit down and read the quotes on the memorial walls . You can see the Capitol and are about 5 minutes walking distance from it if not less .

The American Veterans Disabled for Life Memorial is very new and shares a profound message.

"In war there are no unwounded soldiers" is scribed in to one of the glass walls that keep nearby traffic noise to a minimum. Those words alone make this memorial one of my favorites in Washington, DC.

For photographers there are plenty of great opportunities with a water feature, an eternal flame and many details to explore.

If you're touring Washington, DC near the Air & Space Museum then make the short walk to see one of the nicest memorials the city...

I have the ultimate respect for those that have lost their life. Many of which are recognized with the World War II, Korean and Vietnam Memorials. What was previously absent was recognition for those that lost all or part of who they were, but continued to live. I'm glad to have a memorial to visit for some. Hopefully one day, there will be official recognition for the thousands lost in 'noncombat', 'peacekeeping','training' and classified operations. Those heroes...
