We got there and had over an hour and a half of time to spare. We all ordered our food and sat down. Then we waited for 20 minutes and our food still hadn’t came, so we went up and asked about our food. The customer service was horrible and they were getting mad at us for asking about our food we bought. It’s not like we get anything complicated, we got chicken tenders and a hotdog. At this point 30 minutes had passed so we went up again and surprise surprise they got mad at us again and told us that there were many people/orders before us even though we had seen so many people that ordered after us get their food. Finally we had enough after 45 minutes because we were hangry and running out of time. We went up and asked again. They told us they didn’t have any hotdogs ready and that’s why there was such a long wait and that it would be another 10 minutes. The prices are fair but the service is horrendous. The two employees working today were extremely rude, very slow to help customers, and one kept touching her long braided hair and then touching the food. Definitely not sanitary!
They also offer chicken curry but were out of croissants and when we asked to have the croissant switched to a bagel, the employee said “that’s above my pay grade.”
This cafe could be really lovely if they would either train the current staff or hire new staff that is more experienced or at least willing to help customers get their food.
There are several areas to sit and enjoy your food once you finally receive it. Good food, good atmosphere, but terrible customer service...
Read moreManna is a restaurant on the sixth floor of the Museum of the Bible. It opens at 11:00am for lunch service. The food is inspired by Mediterranean dishes and include yogurt brined chicken, lamb kebab, personal flatbread pizzas, even fried chicken tenders. Sides vary from grits with tahini and chickpeas, to olive tapenade, baba ghanoush, and pickled vegetables. The fountain juice drinks are very good and don't contain excessive sugar. Try the mango pineapple.
You take a menu and then tell the staff what you want to order. They bring it out on a tray like a dine-in fast food place. Most areas of the museum forbid food and drink so fuel up either here or at the coffee kiosk across the staircase.
Since this is a museum restaurant in DC, the prices will be higher than normal. Expect to pay at least $20 per person for lunch...
